I asked this on G&L but hopefully you can help!
So BotanicalBliss, I'm hoping you might be able to help me here (but I'll take advice from anyone!!!)
Because of the unseasonably warm weather we've been having, my crocuses and a few other early blooming bulbs have started to come up. I think it's pretty obvious that we're going to get some snow soon and I'm sure they'll die back. My question is, are they going to come back in the spring? I'm really dissapointed that they may not come back this year, but hopefully there is something I can do to trick them into blooming!!!
Any suggestions are welcome!
(On the bright side, at least I know I planted the right side up!

They should come back in the spring. Once the snow and cold temps hit, they should die back and go dormant again. It shouldn't effect flowering. Now, if you start getting buds, then you might have an issue. I think in that case, you just lightly mulch w/ leaves or something to protect them so they don't die if/when the temps drop again.
Hooray for planting them right side up!
I never plant bulbs the right side up
I have given up on them. I'm hoping that I can ask a neighbor lady here that may know this year when we redo our gardens!
On the note of the post though- could you cover them with burlap or something like that. If you're like me, you probably don't have any leaves left in your yard to mulch with.

I'm glad to hear that they will probably come back in the spring! I wasn't originally worried about them flowering, but it's looking like it's going to be another warm week and they are definitely growing. If they start to flower, I might look into some sort of protective covering. I know that it's not a huge deal, they will all certainly come back in another year, but I was hoping for crocuses in the spring!
I guess I'll just wait and see what happens! and if they start to bud and flower, I'll figure something out...
