Re: How was your weekend?

    • Highs? - I had almost all day Saturday to myself - I got a haircut in the morning, went grocery shopping and had lunch at home alone on teh porch and read for a while.  DH took DD to his parents and they went to Chuck E. Cheese!
    • Lows?  DD refused to take a nap yesterday and she was driving me a little batty by 6 pm
    • Watch anything good? Not really.
    • Read anything good?  still absorbed by Gone With the Wind
    • Eat anything good?  Bolognase!  We finally made it to Kloby's for dinner and it was good, but not that great.  I don't think we'll be back.
    • What are you looking forward to this week?  DH's Christmas present on Friday - we're going to the National Geographic Museum and then lunch and a movie.  I'm kinda more excited about it than him I think!
    • FFCs, vents, observations, etc?  DH is in a lot better mood when I cook and meal plan.  I think it makes him feel more husband-y, when I'm more wife-y.  I don't think he woudl ever say this out loud, but I totally notice it.  Also - I got most of Chirstmas taken down and it made me and Ella sad.

    • Highs? Last night DH and I cooked while drinking wine and jamming to Pandora. It was perfect.

    • Lows? Lack of sleep for no good reason.

    • Watch anything good? The Big Waste - its sad to see how much we waste.

    • Read anything good? Nope

    • Eat anything good? I ate half of the garlic mushrooms DH made before he could get them in the dish he was making. They were awesome.

    • What are you looking forward to this week? Other than HH tonight, nothing really.

    • FFCs, vents, observations, etc? DH's 30th birthday is in a few weeks and he's very indecisive about what he wants to do.  I know it's his birthday but I need to start planning and he is not being very helpful!

    • Highs? Got a lot done at the house. Painted 4 rooms (1 of which is finished) and got the yard cleaned up quite a bit.
    • Lows? Woke up this morning thinking it was still the weekend.
    • Watch anything good? Just Go With It was pretty good and I was so excited for Shameless, Californication and Ab Fab last night. I also really liked House of Lies.
    • Read anything good? Started The Paris Wife
    • Eat anything good? Cranberry Apple Pie
    • What are you looking forward to this week? We're supposed to get our fence put up Thursday and I can't wait. Also looking forward to getting a desperately needed haircut.
    • FFCs, vents, observations,etc?
    • Highs? DS was in a great mood all weekend and that really makes everyone happier! We saw our friends and their kids Friday night and they haven't seen DS in at least 3 months so it was great for them to get sometime with him. We went out to breakfast Saturday morning and DS was well-behaved and had a blast people watching.
    • Lows? We didn't get to BRU to look at car seats.
    • Watch anything good? More HIMYM. Surprise OT win for Denver (we are Broncos fans)!!
    • Read anything good? No
    • Eat anything good? I made homemade mac & cheese and it was really good!
    • What are you looking forward to this week? The end of it.
    • FFCs, vents, observations, etc? DH has been so awesome at house stuff this week. He hung up lots of pictures for me, he vacuumed, he cleaned the kitchen floor, he hung up 2 new lights, and I am so thankful. But now I feel like a slacker wife, lol!

    • Highs? Spending Saturday outdoors was lovely and spending some time with friends on Saturday night is always a treat.
    • Lows? Annabelle not feeling and waking up at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
    • Watch anything good? The Steelers and Bronco game
    • Read anything good? Starting slow on my next book in my kindle.
    • Eat anything good? White Chili that my friend made.
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Lunch at Linwoods and hopefully a date night for DH and I.
    • FFCs, vents, observations, etc? Oh I just spent the last 30 minutes on hold with a company and didn't get anywhere. I think I told my sad story about 5 times. Seriously putting someone on hold for 30 minutes and their issue not getting resolves sucks a$$!

    • Highs? Blake slept for 7 hours straight saturday night
    • Lows? 1st day back at work today since October
    • Watch anything good? not really
    • Read anything good? I finished Land of the Painted Caves which is last of a series I started in high school. It was ok. Now I am reading No Cry Sleep Solution for toddlers
    • Eat anything good? not especially, maybe the choc chip cookies I made
    • What are you looking forward to this week? I need friday afternoon to get here now
    • FFCs, vents, observations, etc? Vent: I'm just miserable because I hate this time of the year, I have two in daycare now and sleep is a mess in our house, I know things will get better but that seems like so far in the future.

  • Highs?  We had our neighbors over on Saturday and I cleaned the whole house first, which was really gratifying. Lows?  H was coughing all day yesterday, I think he has bronchitis Sad Watch anything good?  The Broncos/Steelers game! Read anything good?  Nope. Eat anything good?  Beer bread and homemade vegetable stew for dinner last night. What are you looking forward to this week?  A friend's 30th birthday get-together on Saturday! FFCs, vents, observations, etc?  Random observation:  Yesterday I took the dog to the park and there were numerous people wearing just a vest over their clothes- I was bundled up in my ski coat with ear muffs and gloves.  Saturday was really nice, but yesterday it was cold again.  I kept thinking- what is wrong with you people, put your coats on!  I can't stand cold weather.  Is it almost spring yet??
  • Highs? Relaxed a lot, got a good visit in with my family this weekend, including my grandfather at his nursing home, bought some staples at Target, and after coupons, sales and gift cards, I paid $5.
Lows? It's so hard to see my grandfather's memory slowly go, and then to see the other men in his ward in such sad states with little to no family that comes to see them. I love to visit him, but it breaks my heart every time I go.
Watch anything good? Downton Abbey season 2 started, Shameless came back on, woohoo!
Read anything good? I finished a book last weekend and haven't started a new one yet. I have Jack Kerouac's On the Road on my nightstand to start soon!
Eat anything good? My mom's pulled pork, mac and cheese and these amazing peanuts from the Amish Market in PA.
What are you looking forward to this week? Finding out what my bonus will be and hopefully seeing my weight go down a little after starting counting calories again.
FFCs, vents, observations, etc? 1) I have been trying to teach myself a new skill at work, and it's really hard. My boss said she'd sit with me and help me when she has time, but she hasn't brought it up yet. I feel like I'd get the hang of it, but I need some guidance. 2) I majorly messed up our tax deductions in 2011 and we will probably owe about $10K, sigh. We had been getting about $5k back for the past couple years, so I adjusted DH's withholding, but then didn't take into account that the extra untaxed money I made doing freelance pushed us into a new tax bracket Crying3) I think I'm about ready to TTC, but we're going on a trip for my 30th in March, and I want to be able to drink and be in the hot tub, so we're waiting, hehe.

  • Highs? Spent Saturday with the family since DD had a fever and couldn't go to my friend's house with me (she has a little one and I didn't want to get him sick). DH helped me with de-Christmas-ing and cleaning on Sunday. And we got DD's big girl bed half-set-up last night.

Lows? Not getting anything accomplished Saturday, being generally irritable, and DD being very, very difficult last night. I ended up crying over it. Mommy Fail.

Watch anything good? I'm almost caught up on The Vampire Diaries.

Read anything good? I finished Will Grayson, Will Grayson and have started The Daughters.

Eat anything good? My tastebuds are so dulled from this stupid congestion that I really have no idea. I should take advantage and eat carrots and tofu.

What are you looking forward to this week? Getting back into my gym routine.

FFCs, vents, observations, etc? I could type an essay on my frustrations with DD last night. She's a good kid, don't get me wrong, but I was so completely fed up with her last night that I just sent her to her room so that I didn't need to look at her for a few minutes.
