Flight guru's - help please

We're headed to EU in Mar/April and while we have ideal flights (Continental 908 on 3/29 and Continental 949 on 4/15); at $950pp, we're debating if we just book or continue to watch pricing, or look for a cheaper option.

We're looking to fly out of ORD to AMS (amsterdam) on either Thu, 3/29 pm or Fri, 3/30 anytime and return (ideally from London, LHR) on Sun 4/15 or Mon 4/16. However going there, we could fly out of MDW or MKE also. Coming back we could fly out of somewhere besides, London, although that is the last city on our trip.

Anyone willing to help me research flights and beat $950pp? TIA

  • Have you searched using flexible days (is that even an option for you)? I know mid-week flights are often cheaper. I know that's not exactly what you asked, but if you're looking to knock down price, then consider flexible days.

I've used Yapta and Kayak primarily for my search and unfortunately for multi-city flights, they don't show the flexible day option.  Also, I guess we're really not interested in mid-wk flights because then we'd loss a 3rd wknd there (if taking the same amount of vacation days off of work). Thanks though!

  • Many international carriers are having sales in Jan so now is the time to book!

Try skyscanner as well.   Perhaps go directly to some sites, I always check airlines directly as oddly sometimes they are cheaper.

  • If you take the same Continental flights but fly back on the 16th instead, it's showing up for $919.

The only cheaper options I found are to fly BA and add a connection each direction, which would be $870 (flying Thu/Mon and Fri/Sun) or $895 (on Fri/Sun & Thu/Mon).

Thanks; it's probably not worth the savings for just ~$100 total or so.  But I'll start watching these flights incase they go down.  Plus, this just reassures me that we're getting a decent flight w/Continental.  Thanks again!

NCV- Interesting; I didn't realize that on the sales; thanks for the heads up.
