Does anyone have a house with one, or decide against adding one? I really want to add one to our new build because it looks amazing, but it also seems like it might let lots of heat out of the house. I also live in a snowy climate, so I'm concerned about moisture getting in. I can't find much online, so I guess this must be a newer product.
Re: Twilight Fireplace?
Ok that's funny. We have one of these. I had no idea there was a special name for it. I just call it a two-sided fireplace.
Ours is shared between our family room and a screened in porch, so I can't really comment on moisture problems because we don't have any. The fireplace does look great, but it doesn't produce a ton of heat. The doors actually open on the outside, and the drafts prevent the flames from looking as good on that side as they do on the inside. We use ours a lot though and I'm glad we have it.
I have seen them between two rooms- open to both the kitchen and the living room. But never to the outside of the house. Off to google...
