aw: baby shower
i had a good turn out and great host, and some very helpful friends. i got mostly nothing off my registry, but everything i got was super useful, cute, and very appreciated. there won't be a single thing going back to the store, and i'm pretty happy about that.
one of my fave gifts:
this was inspired by http://i44.tinypic.com/160eo44.jpg, which my friend saw that i had posted on pinterest....so she MADE these. isn't that awesome?? the little card that's with the monkey says "if it's a boy" or "if it's a girl"...she made two versions...one is a little flower, one is a tassel, so i can pin it to the hat when we find out what we're having.
my other fave gift is
a diaper cake. which are pretty "common" gifts, but i love that it's home made, and she attached things to it that i didn't register for, but she thought was super helpful when she had her baby last year and was afraid i wouldn't think about. also, she made the blanket that was on top. and it was her very first blanket she's ever made, which is fun.
i got tons of other great things, but i'm sure you guys don't care, but i just absolutely had to share these two gifts. carry on with your lives

of the major things, we still need a carseat and crib mattress, and really i think that's it. we have plenty of blankies, enough diapers to get started, a few bath items, and a few onesies to get us through.
i'm gonna start buying packs of both little boys and little girls stuff, since i'm within return policy times!

If you are getting packs of onsies Gerber ones are great, they are stretchy and soft HOWEVER they run SMALL.
Those gifts are awesome! So are you going to coupon diapers now? I heard there are massive sales at the moment, and a friend of mine said return/exchange policies for diapers are really good. They'll take anything back and give you a bigger size.
I was also curious, did your shower have any sort of theme to it? I'm throwing my sisters in May. Would love to see more pics!
I'll have to see your pictures at home - can't see them at work. Boo! I'm so used to being able to see pictures... oh well.

brandy- of course i'm going to coupon for diapers! there's nothing amazing this week on diapers, but there are some good enough options. i got a couple costco packs of diapers for now, and a few that i've couponed for myself throughout the last few months. i haven't been diligent about diapers, i guess it's pretty much go-time and i should!!
