HP Fans

Look at the Pinterest inspired craft I did this weekend. Matt was very confused at first, so I had to watch Deathly Hallows I last night to show him what it was all about. His reaction was "gross", haha!

  • I figure some people will come in and laugh and some will be like WTF?. For the first, I get a high five and for the second I get to explain the magic of HP and possibly recruit some new addicts Smile

I also have a Platform 9 3/4 sign in my head that I want to make. I can't figure out where to put it, though.

    Yes

One of my favorite scenes in the entire movie series is in HBP when Harry takes the felix felicis and is just so darn giddy. Daniel Radcliffe was hilarious.

  • Ha, that's awesome!

I went to the curling club this weekend to show off Connor and because it was the biggest bonspiel of the year for the club.  Well they outdid themselves because it was the last one in this particular building (we are building a new club).

The theme was Harry Potter "Moving the Stones" so a play on moving the rocks (or stones) to our new club and of course moving them during game play.

So I walked up to the club and the outside double doors were labled Track 9 and Track 10 and there was a cart full of luggage.  Then I walked inside to the next set of double doors which were covered in all brick as was the rest of that little room.  There was a sign that read track 9 3/4

Inside they had so many props around that looked like they were right out of the movie.  They covered the walls with a paper that make it look like the walls in hogwarts, they divided all 28 teams into 4 houses that played various games (curling and other) throughout the weekend to win prizes, they had custom banners for those houses made, they had the forest set up in one room, they had the "floating candles" suspended from the ceiling above each dining table, they had the owls and their cages ... just to name a few things.  They really did a great job and then most of the people came in costume too.

It was really fun and all I could think of was that Harry Potter fans of all sorts would have loved everything that they did!

I hope that's after they washed their hands  Stick out tongue

    Very cute!

  • Love it! Did you paint it or make it some other way?
  • Jules - That's awesome!
Magda - I certainly hope they wash their hands at my house, but I really prefer to not think about it so I don't gross myself out! Ha!
Mary - I painted the background color, wrote lightly in pencil, then use a very fine paintbrush and painted over the pencil. It takes time because you have to let it dry in stages so you don't smear. Luckily, the acrylic paint dries pretty quickly.
