Thinking about Barbados...
Just wondering if anyone has been there and wanted to share thier experience. My husband and I were looking for some place to go and didn't want to spend more than $3k for the room and flight (for 5-6 day). I have looked up a few restaurants and gotten some info on Tripadvisor and looks like it could run a little pricy. We weren't interested in all inclusive and will probably spend most of our time hanging out on the beach and then going into town for dinner at night. Any other sugestions would be helpful as well....already been to Mexico a couple times so would rather try something different this time around
Re: Thinking about Barbados...
I have been to Barbados once and loved it!
We stayed at the Fairmont and did dinners out every night. There are so many great restaurants--I think I read somewhere that it is the only Caribbean island with a zagat guide. But it is not cheap. I think you could probalby do 5 nights for 3K.
Just make sure you check out which side of the island to stay on--one side has really rough surf and is not good for swimming but good for surfing. I think whatever side the Fairmont is on is the calm beach side.
Also, try to get a place that incldues just breakfast. We would have a big breakfast , light snacks (and tropical drinks) for lunch and then our hotel had a free tea service in the afternoon-we would do that and have a later dinner out in town.
