Odd potty training question
DS is pretty much PTd during the day which is great when we're home or he's at school but I'm struggling with it when we are out of the house. DS will often ask to use the bathroom when we're out but I cant figure out how to have him sit on the toilet so that he doesnt fall in. I've tried supporting him but he gets kind of freaked out.
Is there a trick or something that Im missing?
Re: Odd potty training question
Perfect! I figured there had to be something to help! How small does this fold down? I generally have a small diaper bag with me.
It might be different for a boy, but DD sits back a bit and holds on to the rim with both hands.
Kind of gag worthy in public toilets, but we wash really well after
This is what my son does too.

I have M stand up when we're out in public. He stands on my feet so he's tall enough. It took some getting used to, but now he's fine with it.
Ditto.
Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!!
this is what we do

This is what my guys did until they were tall enough. There were occasionally toilets that I had to hold them up for.
A friend has a little ring potty seat she uses for her DS. She has a plastic/cloth reusable bag for it to go in and she occasionally throws in the laundry. Oh, and it holds wipes to clean both DS if needed, and the seat.

When my son was really little, he'd sit on the toilet and hold my hands so he wouldn't fall in.
Now that he's almost 4, he stands up to pee, and has for almost the past year. Once he realized he could do that, there was absolutely no going back.
This is what we do as well.
Since our kiddos were too short to stand in front of the toilet (and still are sometimes) I would stand them on the toilet seat and lean them toward the wall. If the wall has a disability bar behind the toilet, they hold that, if not, they lean their hands on the wall and "lean-to" over the bowl. Sometimes I have to wipe footprints off the seat after, but that's pretty easy and we agree that soap is important when using public restrooms.
Good luck.
