Weekend recaps?

SAVE THE BOARD!

Saturday was a busy day, I spent it with the windows open spring cleaning. I got my closet cleaned out, Christmas put away, and the apartment cleaned up. It felt good to get a lot done! DH came home from work and I made chicken pot pie and we had a nice quiet night.

Yesterday I went to church with my BFF (DH had to work again) and then we went for a long (cold) walk and then went to Archie Moore's for lunch and a beer. I hung out at her parents' house the afternoon and then had another nice and quiet evening at home with DH.

It was so nice to not be traveling anywhere this weekend. *relaxed sigh*

Re: Weekend recaps?

  • Friday night I helped out at the swim meet, and I was pleasantly surprised at how many of the guys still called me Coach. After that, DH and I went to J Timothy's (Shazz, if you like wings, go there! I think they're better than Archie's, and the whole table did too!), but I was the only girl there. I was stuck with my three BILs, and two other guys because they were all talking about their backpacking trip to TN in August. DH told me that SIL was going to be there, but she wasn't.

Saturday we hung out at BILs house, and a lot of the other family was there as well. I got to see a few of the babies, and we figured out the details for our 8th annual family camping trip. If all goes well, I'll be 8 months pregnant, so DH and I will have to take it day by day. Luckily, we have an airmatress. I just couldn't tell anyone yet that we might not be going. DH also went for a run with BIL, so he told him that I'm pregnant. Since they're already getting deep into plans for the backpacking trip, DH had to tell him that he wouldn't be going, but not to tell any of their other brothers yet. We ended the night with some friends, and we were in bed by 10!

Sunday we ran errands. I kept thinking how nice it will be when we have a house, and I don't have to wait a whole week to do my laundry at my parents. sigh.

  • Oooh you'll be in that house soon, lady! I am so excited for you! Have you already started mentally decorating?

haha I'd say that "mentally decorating" is even an understatement...although I haven't bought anything yet, I already have the paint colors picked out, and I went "furniture shopping" at my parents house yesterday. We also have my ILs who want us to do the same, and other family members have been holding onto items. However, we only need a few more things, and we're going to be buying new couches, and a bedroom set. wooo hoo!

My mother already said that she is going to take a day off from work to clean everything top to bottom (she doesn't want me near harsh chemicals lol), and DH is going to spend the week after closing painting/staining. We're focusing on our bedroom first, so we can sleep there, and then the kitchen.

  • yay house! I'm so excited for you.

Shazzie, chicken pot pie sounds amazing. I might make that for dinner tonight...

Friday night: I don't think we did anything since I can't remember. lol H has been playing skyrim all weekend, so maybe that's what it was...

Saturday: I cleaned, unpacked from our vacation and watched true blood. H played skyrim and worked out.

Sunday: Repeat of Saturday. It was ah-mazing.

And today I am going to be cleaning out the nursery and trying to meal plan. I hate meal planning...

  • I was totally coming here to start a weekend recap thread - great minds think alike! :)

I've been sick since New Year's Eve Eve, so this weekend was pretty low-key.

Friday: I worked late-ish, then H picked me up and we went to see Mission Impossible on Imax - it was pretty good.

Saturday: I didn't have to work (HOORAY!), so H and I slept in and did a whole bunch of nothing! We ended up finally leaving the house around 10pm to go to the grocery store, which was amazing since 1) we were out of EVERYTHING, and 2) it was totally empty. You know you're living the old married lady life when a Saturday night at the grocery store is exciting!

Sunday: H worked, I took down Christmas decorations, cleaned, did laundry, and cooked dinner! I almost felt like a real domestic goddess, hahaha - until I snaked our drains. Then I felt like me again ;)

  • Friday night: worked

Saturday: worked in the afternoon, then got to hang out with DH in the evening.  We went to Yankee Candle to make an exchange from Christmas, then we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  They said 45 minute wait but we were seated in 15 and there were tons of people waiting!  Ate a huge, delicious meal, but ate too much in general and I guess too much fat because I had a gall bladder attack after we got home.

Sunday: Still wasn't feeling good, skipped my work holiday party, did a load of laundry in the evening after I got some energy back.  Did a lot of reading and TV watching while H was at work.

    I feel better today :)

we LOVE going grocery shopping together on Friday/Saturday night. It's so much more quiet, and we can enjoy it and have fun.

We wanted to go for our anniversary, but it was an hour and a half wait! I was pretty upset, because it was the second time we've tried to go there, and DH hasn't been yet. I've been there once, and fell in love with it....about 5 years ago.

  • It was a pretty quiet weekend.  Laundry and housecleaning mainly.  Saturday, I listened to the Cotton Bowl on streaming radio while I took down my Christmas tree.  Sunday, I spent the afternoon watching the Saints/Lions game.  DH was most upset that his weekend was interrupted by "Gridiron," so he headed off to his parents' house to help his Dad with some stuff both days.  Today (Tuesday) will complete the football trifecta as I am planning on watching the BCS Championship Game this afternoon.
