So- I was reading your response to Oodsie's post re: traffic on 95 past the CH Hopewell hospital....talk to me about the traffic. My IL's watch DS for me 2 days a week when I work and they will be moving to Hamilton NJ in March.
I live in Yardley so when I take him to my ILs I'll take 95 to 295 and go right past the hospital too (I will get on at the Yardley/Newtown 332 exit). I'm just wondering how bad to expect traffic to be during rush hour. Right now my ILs live in Huntingdon Valley and it's a good 45 mins from my house in Yardley to theirs. I was actually thinking I'd be getting a little bit of a break driving to Hamilton instead of Huntingdon Valley. Am I crazy? ![]()
Re: **HeatherWain**
You are absolutely, 100 billion million % crazy. The traffic is worse going south on 95 to get back to Yardly but the entire area is bad. A few of my coworkers live in Hamilton and from Princeton, it takes them about a 1/2 hour to get home. Also, 195 and 295 are no joke during rush hour. 95 South in Jersey as well.
If you are trying to get from Yardley to Hamilton and back to Yardley during rush hour, you are probably going to want to commit suicide at some point during your trip. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer about it, but it's true. Sorry.
well, great. i'm screwed. thanks for the info- i'm not too worried about my commute in the afternoon b/c I'd be heading over to pick him up about 3:30- so perhaps I'd miss the evening traffic (fingers crossed). The morning is what I'm concerned about b/c I'll have to go from Yardley to Hamilton then back to Yardley and get my daughter to school by 8:15 and me to work by 8:30. Perhaps I should leave my house at 6 am
If during your commute, you see a crazy lady with 2 kids in the car ready to pull her hair out, that's me- make sure to wave!
Thanks for the info! I appreciate it.

You'll definitely be okay at 3:30 - it doesn't start back up until 4:15-4:30ish, and gets SUPER ridiculous by 5.
What time were you thinking of leaving in the morning? You're going to have issues from the second you get on, but once you cross the bridge and get close to 295 it does widen up and lighten a little.. The main problem is trying to get across and all of the on-ramps merging together from a bazillion different directions (which is why they have the bridge expansion project starting soon).
i have had to do this drive a bit as well..... would it be possible/better for you to take one of the smaller bridges over to nj (washington's crossing or lambertville) and heading over to hamilton that way?
i also used to have a lot better luck before 730a than after. i taught a 9a class and i needed to leave my house and get to school by 745/8 if i wanted to get there on time and not want to kill someone.
good luck!
Thanks for the input! I'll probably plan on leaving my house about 7-7:15. Maybe I'll be ok then
I'm not sure about the WC bridge or Lambertville. I'm not really familiar with them. I'll have to check it out.
I appreciate the help! I'm not really familiar with NJ up that way. I'm more of a Lower Bucks girl. Born and raised
