OMG. I kept itching last night and when I went to bed and took my pants off my legs were covered in hives. I took Benadryl, but it didn't help at all and I was all freaking night itching. I had to call in sick.

I have a huge one on my elbow now too and the back of my head is itching like crazy. I'm going to call my allergist as soon as they open and if they can't see me I guess I'm going to Urgent Care. I have no idea what's causing this and it sucks big time.
Re: Hives
I took my normal dose of Zyrtec early this morning too and that's not helping. They are getting bigger and spreading and some of them are painful. Called the doctor and they couldn't get the allergy dept. so she said she would put in to have someone call back asap. It's been 45 minutes. If I give them 15 more minutes is that a sufficient amount of time before I call back? I've never had a reaction like this and I really am miserable.
ETA: Nevermind. I am off to the allergist.
I know this is a bit late....but I get hives alot. I always shower and clean the area right away, then take benedryl as you stated. I also use oatmeal lotion (aveeno has a good one). Also sleeping with ice packs helps if the others don't
Good luck, I know how annoying they are. Plus I always carry an epi pen with me cause I have quite a few allergies (just in case)
