Re: January 2012 H&F Challenge Check-in
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week? I ended up fighting a cold last week, so I didn't do as much as I wanted. But I rode a... difficult... horse yesterday, and as a result I am SORE today!
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week? Getting sick. I feel like I'm still trying to get over it, so I'm trying to not go too crazy. I don't want to relapse.
4. H&F plan for this week? Walk the dogs, and that's about it honestly. If I feel better, I will get out there and do something.
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans? I step on the scale. If the scale reads positively, the satisfaction alone is rewarding enough.

1. What are your January goals?
Train for and complete my first half marathon, and stick to new meal plan.
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week?
Nope. I did a 3 mile run and my long run, but that's it.
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week?
AWs: I ran 10 miles Saturday!!!
Struggles: My new shoes are giving me blisters, my foot is still pretty tender in a certain area (but it's not getting worse, so I guess that's good!)
4. H&F plan for this week?
M: Speedwork. T: Some type of strength training. W: 3 mile run. Th: some type of strength training. F: Rest. Sa: 11 mile run. Su: Crosstrain and Strength train. And stick to my meal plan I started today.
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans?
I usually use races as my reward (the entry fees really start adding up!) The races keep me motivated and the feeling after a race is so awesome!!

2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week? Yes. This week will be the first full week on the new plan, though.
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week? P90X is HARD, y'all. I can only do about half of it, which makes me feel like a wuss. And I'm SO sore.
4. H&F plan for this week? P90X 6x/wk, jogging 3 days/wk, eating better. MIL is a nutritionist and is supposed to be sending us a meal plan today.
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans? I'm being kind of hard-core about it this go-round. I really want to keep TTC, and we're not going to continue that until I'm at my goal weight. I'd really like to lose more than 14lbs, but that's the minimum for TTC. That is one heck of a reward, imo.
1. What are your January goals? Plan A: finish stage 5 of NROLFW, start stage 6; Plan B (more likely): take a rest break and do mainly lower-body workouts to let my arm heal ( I think I have tendonitis)
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week? to the plan B (recovery) version. Except for 1 easy swim, I skipped the gym and just walked the dogs a few times.
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week? My upper left arm has been sore for a while; I've self diagnosed it as biceps tendonitis. If I continue my heavy lifting it won't get a chance to fully heal, but I don't want to lose much of the strength gains I've made in the past few months. Two weeks off over Christmas wasn't long enough for it to heal.
4. H&F plan for this week? lower body work/light upper body work today and Thurs, body weight exercises Sat, light swim on Sun, plus walk the dogs a few times
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans? I enter my workouts in an Excel spreadsheet. I find crossing items off my "to do" list to be quite satisfying...I guess that's not a reward for most people though! When I complete NROLFW, I'm going to get a professional massage. A nice loooong one.
1. What are your January goals?
My goals were to run a couple races and start NROLFW. Done!
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week?
I did pretty well. I lost a couple pounds last week. I would like to have run one more time, but scheduling didn't work out and I didn't want to run the day before a race.
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week?
I set a new PR with the 10k I did this weekend and did the first workout from NROLFW. I'm still sore from that, but I'll do workout B for the first time this afternoon.
4. H&F plan for this week?
Lifting MWF, running ... T,R. Things are tricky for this weekend since I'll have Connor (gym daycare not open on sunday) and be out of town (I'll be in Tulsa Friday and Saturday).
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans?
With a day of gluttony once every few weeks. That day is today, and honestly, I feel gross. Blech.
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week? Not really. I only made it to the gym once.
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week? I bought size 6 skinny jeans. The struggle is always the same - time. I need to always go to the gym when I can, and I need to run after my lifting workouts.
4. H&F plan for this week? Three lifting workouts, at least two runs.
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans? With new clothes.
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week? Yes.
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week? Finally went to the doctor for the whole back thing, and got some good info about that. I haven't let it stop me, for the most part, and I'm still doing what's best for my body. My struggle is that I've seriously lost ground on the running, so I need to work on building that back up again.
4. H&F plan for this week? Two more 2-miles walks and 1 mile 'round the track without stopping.
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans? Uh. I haven't yet, I guess. I guess I still feel like I'm troubleshooting.
1. What are your January goals? Lose 5 lbs.
2. Did you stick to your H&F plan last week? No, but this is a new week so I'm trying to be positive
3. AWs and/or Struggles from last week? No AWs. Struggles--I love food. And have no time to exercise.
4. H&F plan for this week? Stick to my WW points, drink more water.
5. How do you reward yourself for following your H&F plans? I don't really, that's something I need to work on because I think it would help motivate me.
