the braided spaghetti bread...

was awesome!!! And easy! Make it!!!

ETA: David just told me it's his favorite thing I've ever made. Like made a big deal about it being his favorite. I'm not sure if he did something wrong and is trying to earn points before I find out or if he just really likes it.

  • Yay! It's on our menu for next week. I'm excited to give it a try.

  • Hmm, Mark was just asking me to make some pasta this week to use up sauce we have... this sounds like a better idea!

Did you use the frozen bread they recommended, or something else? I don't think we have that around here.

  • What'd I miss? What is this braided spaghetti bread?

I've been a bit MIA this week... sounds like I missed something yummy.

  • I missed this too-recipe?! :)

  • I had to look it up too

What did you use for the bread? I agree, I've never heard of that brand.

I think this would make great packable leftovers.

  • Ok...if it's that good..I'll have to try it out too!  Hopefully we can figure the bread out!
  • That looks so deliciously unhealthy I can't wait to try it!

  • I think this plus s!utty brownies would be the perfect meal! Well with wine of course.

  • This looked really good when I saw it on Pinterest but I wanted opinions from people I know before actually making it. Thanks for trying it out first! lol.

I wonder if you could use the pilsbury brand pizza dough for this instead of the brand used in the original recipe?? We don't have that brand here either, but I imagine the pizza dough would work just as well. It comes out of the package as a rectangle too so no need to roll it out.

This recipe just went to the top of my "to make" list!

  • Most grocery stores here have a small freezer section in the bakery area.  We don't have that brand, but I've boughten other brands of frozen bread and/or rolls that would work just the same I'm sure.

  • I did use the brand they recommended, but any frozen dough would work. You could even get ambitious and make your own dough! Ha.

    Other things to know:

It is rather hard to transfer it from the counter to the baking sheet. I wish I had used parchment paper. BUT it is very forgiving. There was a hole on the bottom of the bread loaf, yet none of the sauce, etc spilled out during baking. It also slices easily and really wasn't too difficult to eat. I wrapped the leftovers in tinfoil, and David took them to work. If you don't mind softer bread, it will heat up just fine in the microwave, or you could reheat in the oven.

  • White bread? Or more of a pizza dough?

We just bought some french bread dough and are giving it a shot tomorrow night I think. Couldn't find the brand from the recipe anywhere.

White bread. Pizza dough would probably work, but then I think it would be calzone-y than the original recipe. This is more bread-bread. Does that make sense?

I made those brownies for NYE last weekend (along with a couple other things)!  They were so good and so rich!  I've been reheating leftovers all week.  It's probably so bad for me, but they were so yummy.

I made them for my friend's bday at work. I have one of those old school Tupperware cake carriers and she carried them around so she could ration them out to only those she wanted...lol.

I used the Pillsbury italian loaf and you'll definitely need two loaves of it to have enough to do the braid. I used one loaf and it's delicious, but could barely get the bread to wrap around.

  • This is in my oven right now!   I was actually able to find the Rhodes branded in the regular freezer section of my grocery store!  I'm excited to try it in 20 minutes!
  • I described it to DH and he say it sounds "gross".  I'm going to sneak it onto the menu next week anyways to try it out!

  • My mom made it tonight. It was delicious. She said they actually do have this brand bread -- she even had a coupon! However, it was cheaper to buy the store brand and it was fabulous.

  • we had it tonight..Ian LOOOVED it.   I thought the spaghetti part could have used a little more flavor, but that could have just been the sauce I picked.  I think I might add ground beef or cut up meatballs next time...or some garlic powder.  But it was approved in this house.
  • We had it last night using Hannaford brand frozen bread...it was kind of small, but it tasted SO good!  I had it at my parents' b/c DH was busy, and my dad kept going, "oh, this is a keeper recipe!"

I had ground beef and lots of garlic in ours. Next time I am doing Italian sausage and a more flavorful sauce too. It's amazing without it, but it would give it a bit more punch!
