Pueblo Bonito Sunset-Cabo

We are booked for a week in March via our timeshare.

Reviews please. We can always rebook to another resort so good resort suggestions would be fine.

We LOVEd El Dorado Royale in Cancun so we are looking for something similiar as far as accomodations and services.

Re: Pueblo Bonito Sunset-Cabo

  • I've stayed at the Pueblo Bonito in Mazatlan and was very happy with it, if that helps at all.

It's nice, but it's HUGE and I don't think it's on the same level as El Dorado.  Are you able to book Montecristo Villas at Pueblo Bonito?  If so, I'd go for that.  We stayed there in August and it was amazing.  Don't get me wrong, PBSB is really nice, but it's tough to compare it to El Dorado since it's a gigantic hotel that feels a lot less personal and intimate and much more like a megaresort.  Also, I don't believe it's all inclusive, is it?

If you do stay there, make sure to have dinner at La Frida and spring for the tasting menu.  It's one of the best meals I've had in years.

  • Love it! Great property. We have a timeshare at the Pueblo Bonito Rose in Cabo and have toured the Sunset many times. When you stay at the Sunset you can also use the facilities at any of the other Pueblo Bonito Properties in Cabo which is great as the Sunset is not on a swimming beach. If you want to go to the beach bars / restaurants (which you absolutely should do) take the free shuttle over to the Rose and walk out onto the beach from there. Make sure you reserve shuttle seats ahead of time. We always do the timeshare tour as they typically give you a $200 credit towards food and alcohol that you can use at any of their Resorts in town, plus a free massage. We loved visiting their sky pool and the main pool. In March you should be able to see whales from the pool. I was there in April a few years ago and recall sipping margaritas in my pool chair watching wales go by, it was soo awesome! The property is on a hill and they have these modified golf carts that take you to the different areas of the resort which is nice. Try to get out of the resort and explore downtown Cabo. There are a ton of great restaurants and good food. I highly recommend going on the Trip Advisor boards and visiting some of the restaurants on Trappers List. Taking cabs into town can get expensive so it is always a good idea to take the shuttle over to the Rose and walk into town from there. You can then either take the suttle back later in the day or take a cab from town. Have a great time. I plan on being down there in June. :-)
