I thought I was done for the night doing anything on the computer, but I had to come back on here and post about this show that I just left on while flipping through the tv. It's on TLC right now and it's called 'Extreme Cheapskates'.
OMG....this show - I can't lol! They just showed this guy who was so cheap, that he went dumpster diving to get his wife an anniversary gift. wtf! I mean, if you can't afford diamonds, good lord, at least don't go digging in the trash for a gift! lol He openly admitted that he married his wife because he needed to have some dental surgery but didn't have insurance and she did....so they got married on a Tuesday and he had the surgery the next day. This poor woman....*smh*
Re: Extreme Cheapskates
Oh yea, I saw that too....I had to shut it off after that because I was so disgusted by it. I'm all for saving money as much as the next person, but there are just certain things I would not leave to chance. I actually cannot believe there are stores that are allowed to sell expired foods like that. Like, if a person gets sick from that stuff, who is responsible?
I would never feed other people expired food. If something in my cupboard was dated, say, last week, I'd smell it and feed it to my family, but if I was making food to share I'd definitely go buy a replacement ingredient. And making a salad from stuff they found in the park? I can make 4 large cheese pizzas and a lettuce salad for $10 from fresh ingredients. A non-expired 50 cent can of generic tomato sauce has got to be better than a bag of 2 1/2 year old (gourmet?) stuff.
The poor mom who dropped her kids off. You could tell she wasn't truly ok with it. You sign up for babysitting, thinking your kids are going to get a decent meal and they're fed old cheese and grass? Wonder if they let her stay in the club.
Yea, I highly doubt they let her stay in the club. If it were me, I would have kicked her out for not only that, but also making kids use cloth dirty brown stained 'toilet paper'. That is just plain gross. But as a parent, I would be very angry if someone served my kids expired food. Not just because it's wrong, but that's not safe and then who do you hold responsible if the kids get sick? The store who sold the expired food in the first place or the parent who knowingly served it? I cannot even believe there is a store that is actually allowed to sell expired food like that.....
