Where would you go if you were me?

I am going batty looking at all the travel options. We are looking to go away for about 4 nights leaving from tampa for my dh's 40th bday. Our budget is around $1500. We have thought of the caribbean, vegas, chicago, nyc...

We went to vegas 2 years ago, last year was NOLA and DC, the year before nyc. We've even though of just going to the keys or miami for a few days. Idk- give me your suggestions.

  • Boston, Montreal, Austin, TX, Quebec City

  • I second Boston - great city!

    Montreal, Hilton Head, Austin, Houston.

(Out of these places, I've only been to Boston - the rest are on my Travel Bucket List, so I can't offer any advice on what to do there, etc. - sorry!)

  • San Francisco or New Orleans

ETA: Whoops, noticed you just did New Orleans. Maybe Toronto?

    Um, four days? Huh?

I am a very throw-a-dart-at-a-map kind of traveler, based on cheap flights from a convenient airport.

What's available to you from the budget airlines at your nearest airport(s)?  No use setting your heart on a place if it will take 2 layovers at crappy times and your whole budget just to get there.

4 days and a $1500 budget at that! I think I have just been driving myself nuts trying to figure out where we can get the best deal for our money. The caribbean is very close and has some good specials. but it's hard to tell if the resorts in our budget are worthwhile. I like to check trip advisor but it seems every place has some people who love it and others who are screaming mad.

  • It depends on if you are luxury travelers, explorers, etc...

For 4 days, I would suggest Peurto Rico but not San Juan.  Try Fajardo, Old San Juan, Luquillo. St. Croix is another option but it not real touristy.

    Niagara Falls might be nice.

  • Temecula & San Diego, CA.  Or San Antonio.  I love all three :)
