pinterest stalkers

In 15 minutes I have already had 6 repins of a harry potter thing. All people I don't know and I'm not following. Does this creep anyone else out or is just me?? FIFTEEN MINUTES

I can't keep up with the interwebs.

Re: pinterest stalkers

  • Hahaha... It freaked me out the first couple times that happened. From what I can figure, whenever you pin something, it goes on the main Pinterest page. Anybody can see it and repin.  Best I can make out when that happens it means a pin hit the top page of Pinterest, got repinned, moved up the page, got pinned, moved up, etc.

I sorta felt like my privacy was violated at first, but then I realized that I have zero personal information connected to Pinterest - not even my last name. Which is cool that its set up that way. So what if people can see my pins? They don't know me from Adam's housecat.

Your repins just means somebody thinks you have great taste. ;)

  • A couple of my birth/pregnancy announcements on one of my boards have 75+ repins... I love it, but I'm a weird repin stalker, so I like to go follow them to find other stuff on pages where other people have pinned my stuff.

  • I think it goes to the main page but also if you search for something specific your pins can show up so random people see them.

  • Ditto pretty much what everyone else said. If you have your pinboards marked as a certain category then whenever you pin something to it the pin shows up on that category's main pinterest board where anyone can see it.

I do have one or two people following me that I have no idea who they are. That kind of weirds me out a bit but whatevs.... like Brit said, it isn't like they can get any personal info about me on there.

  • I kinda think it's cool when that happens.  I have lots of things that are just simply 'liked' by random people, which I think is cool.

It blows my mind more that a few videos I put up on YouTube of some concerts that we went to have over 10,000 views and people comment on it all the time.  That seems more weird to me.
