Roses: hope to see you at the half. If it's chilly, I'll be wearing my Chicago Half Marathon long-sleeved shirt. That race was well-organized. I don't recall how good the swag was. The expo wasn't all that great, either (except it's at Navy Pier, which is nice). The only issue I had was the buses back to downtown took forever. I'd say to stay close to the finish, but staying downtown is much more fun. The course is super flat, except at the turn, at about 8.5 miles, you go up a steep off ramp, over LSD, then back down. Weather was warm and humid when I did it, so I kept my goal pace perfectly until I hit that off ramp. I ended up walking up, then walked a bit at the water stations after that because the heat and humidity got to me. You never know how the weather will be. Could be warm (75-80), or could be in the 40s. I'd hope for 40s or 50s. Crowd support is good miles 1-3 and 11-12. Other than that, it is thin along LSD, with people mostly on overpasses. I enjoyed it because it was my first one, and it was fun to run on LSD in my town. You should be able to PR.
charlottel and Kat: see above re me wearing my Chicago Half shirt. If I take it off, I'll either have a hot purple or hot lime green shirt on (haven't decided). I should be milling around GRB between 6:15 and 6:40ish. Hope to see you there!

I think I am going to wear my run girl 13.1 shirt and blue shorts. It's a maroon shirt. I will also have a baby, grumpy husband, pregnant woman, and a think blonde guy with me. (Tall and thin is running the marathon)
We are going Saturday morning to pick up race packets. My goal is to get there around 9.
Good luck ladies! Not sure that I would recogonize anyone but hoping the crowd support is just as great as it usually regardless of the Texans game at noon!
I am picking up my packet Saturday morning as well, hoping there is still a good assorment of shirts & swag that is saved up for day 2!
