What face cream do you use?

I've been using Patricia Wexler face cream (because my dermatologist uses it and has the most beautiful skin I've ever seen - though she fessed up to peels, etc - she is a dermatologist after all....) for about 3 months and I don't see any real difference from when I was using Neutrogena Visibly Even face cream (but I seem to have a hard time finding it).

The Patricia Wexler is about triple the price of the Neutrogena and if I could find it consistently I'd probably just go back to Neutrogena.

Anyone have any raves for their face cream that is easy to find that they would like to share?  I have normal, starting to get wrinkly, skin.

Thanks!

  • Today show talked about CeraVe, check it out, I haven't used it myself though.

  • I love all my Philosophy stuff. I use their Hope in a Jar at night and it feels great on my skin. It's a little pricey, but Sephora always has deals and whatnot . . .

  • Hope in a Jar, then CVS night cream that is the Oil of Olay knock off for dry winter times.  This is my first time with HIaJ and I'm really liking it.
Like any good super hero, I'm using my alter ego to protect my identity. Goodbye Silver poster status!
  • I have returned to using Kiehls and love it.

  • I've been using hope in a jar at nighttime and I really think I am seeing a difference
  • Here is a post I did a little while ago:

I have since bought the Oil of Olay daily moisturizer, and some Oil of Olay night time stuff.  I probably should be looking into some more $$ anti-aging stuff, as I am 37 now and getting some serious gray hairs - surely the wrinkles are next!

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
  • I use Olay complete daily with SPF 15. I think it's for sensitive skin. I get 2-packs at Costco and it's really cheap. Other moisturizers with SPF irritate my eyes and Olay doesn't.

I really need a good eye cream and night cream for anti-aging, but I like Olay for day.

  • I just bought some Coconut Oil to try as a face cream.  I've read good things about it, it's cheap, and I figure that if it doesn't work out as a face cream, I can use it to cook or bake with.  LOL
  • I was using Hope in a Jar for about a year.  At first I liked it, it didn't seem to bother my sensitive, breakout-prone, skin, but then I just kind of started feeling "meh" about it because I wasn't noticing anything all that great with my skin either.

I decided to try something else and switched to Origins Night-a-Mins moisturizer about 3 months ago:

All I have to say is: Amazing!!!  I only use it at night, it feels like it would be heavy but you use so little and it melts right into your skin.  I wake up and my skin looks so calm and smooth.  Hardly any breakouts now (and when I do they're small and go away quickly), scarring and discoloration minimized, and my skin feels very moisturized.  I love, love, love it!

  • I don't think you have to go expensive to get good results.  I recently went in to see a skin care specialist, and she said the secret to good skin is: use a vitamin C serum every morning (anti-oxidant), along with a moisturizer with at least 30 spf, and a retinoid at night. Drink lots of water.

In the morning I use Cetaphil sph 50.  It's gentle and doesn't make me break out.

I use Retin-A Micro every other night.  The tube is $40 because my insurance doesn't cover the name brand, but i use a pea-size drop and that tube will last me a year.  Before I got the Retin-A Micro, which is a prescription, I used Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair.  I worked my way up to using it every night, and I noticed a difference within 2 weeks.  On my off nights, I use Olay.
