Tuesday weight loss/healthy habits check in?

I haven't seen Sarack or Emy around yet today, so I'll post this for now if anyone wants to jump in...

Weight loss in the past week?

What worked for you this past week, and what didn't?

Plan for this coming week?

Re: Tuesday weight loss/healthy habits check in?

  • Total weight loss: 5.6

Adjusted weight loss (I keep a running average which helps even out any jumps or spikes on a given day): 4.4

Total loss this week: 2.7 pounds

    Starting weight: 174.8 (highest: 196)

    Current weight:169.2

    Adjusted current weight: 170.4

What worked this week: Focusing on carbs not calories. Making sure I was never hungry, helped make sure that I didn't deviate from plan.

Plan for this coming week: Continue tracking. Focus on adding more physical activity.

  • Weight loss in the past week? 1.5lb - consider AF was around, I'll take it!

What worked for you this past week, and what didn't? I also focused on limiting carbs this week. I've been trying to just cut out simple carbs, but focusing on cutting back overall carbs helped a lot.

What didn't work - being sick and missing a lot of exercise. Although, it helped me realize how much I really do miss working out if I don't do it. Good motivation to jump back in.

Plan for this coming week? Continue to limit carbs, run 3 days, lift 3 days, get to spin class tonight.

  • Inspired by emyinpink to count carbs rather than calories. I am having a hard time eating more than 1000 calories a day but I'm never hungry so I don't know.

Weight: I think I've gained 1.5lbs in a week which makes me a super sad panda.

Exercise; I worked out almost every single day this past week except Wednesday and Thursday. I started the Insanity work out and am not hating it so far.

    Goals:

Track carbs and try to work them consistently below 100 grams a day. Given I do not eat a lot of breads, cereals, or what not you'd think it is easy, but no. ;-; (What do you mean my spiced caramel apple cider thing has 20 grams of carbs? What do you mean my yogurt parfait has 34 grams? Fail.)

Continue with insanity and work in a run some time,e ither at the gym or outside if the day is not bad.

Sleep earlier so I can get in some more sleep to help with weight management.

  • I wish they had a cow icon - that would sum up my week.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning, so maybe I'll do it tomorrow.

I did not go to the gym at all last week. For the most part I ate okay, but I know I need to get carbs under control and stop week night drinking.

Based on my Fitbit between Wednesday and Saturday, I walked a total of 26,589 steps, which is approximately 11.2 miles and I climbed 57 floors.

  • Weight loss this week: 4 lbs - currently at 144 woot

What worked: For the most part, I think I succeeded in being okay with stopping before my plate was cleaned off, which was difficult, but nice.  I only went to the gym once, but I've been doing things like walking up the stairs at work on my breaks instead of going to Starbucks to buy caramel brownie things haha.  I've also started drinking my coffee black, which I didn't think I'd like, but I actually like it better o.O I also did succeed in drinking a lot more water.  It sucks at work because I have to pee constantly, but I definitely felt better.

What didn't work: I need to work on using MFP more/better.  I realized that I eat a lot of things that are just thrown together at home, so there's no barcode to scan and get the info on, so figuring out how to track those meals.  It also didn't help that we went to my mom's this weekend to finally do our Christmas down there, so there was a lot of eating involved haha.

So this week's plan: keep up the portion control and water drinking, add in more movement (I spend all day moving at work, but I need to stop using that as an excuse to not move after work), and take the time to add stuff to MFP :)
  • Starting weight (this go around):  133 Friday, December 30th

    Current weight:  128.6

My weigh ins with WW are Fridays, so I'm hoping to get that to 128 even by then, but we'll see.

Possible obstacles:  I am making several dozen cupcakes for Tman's karate, and I have to taste.  I mean, seriously, it would be irresponsible not to.  But, I have a hard time once I start eating sweets.  The more I eat, the more I crave, which sucks.

Exercise this week:  I have been trying to do my stair stepper every day if only for a few minutes here and there.  I can find 10 minutes while the cupcakes are in the oven even if I can't find 45 minutes straight.

Food this week:  I have been focusing on fruit and vegetables during the day and then having a smaller portion of whatever I give to my family for dinner.  I have been drinking tons of coffee - I had a whole pot plus an americano yesterday and was irritated when the pot went dry.  I need to try to get some water in there, but I HATE water.

  • I didn't lose anything the past week, in fact I gained a pound. WTF. I'm trying to keep up with all of your crazy calorie burns on MFP, but I just can't do it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's driving me crazy, because I've lost this weight once before, so I know it's possible.

I went to the gym 6 days last week and I ate pretty healthy 6 days last week too. I think I really need to stop eating out.

I'm planning on going to the gym 2x a day 3x this week. I'm going to do my normal work out routine once then go to a class too.

I'm going to stop buying dehydrated mangos too. Those are my weakness and I can't stop stuffing my face with those when they're in the house.

  • I haven't weighed myself yet so I don't know how that went!

My eating was ok, I was under or just barely over all week ( no more than 20 calories). I am going to continue to up veggies and decrease carbs.

I worked out as much as I could which wasn't much ~ 3x and it wasn't close to the intensity of before surgery. I miss exercise and am trying to not let it bring me down!

Plans for this week: keep improving on eating better more filling meals. No beer for a little bit and increase my workouts!

  • I haven't weighed myself. I don't have a scale yet.

But the Christmas candy is still taunting me. That's been my downfall. I also need to be drinking more water.

I did walk a few times but I haven't jumped on the elliptical yet.

Overall there is lots of room for improvement. I am hoping to increase my veggie intake and water intake, :-)

  •  Starting Weight: 225

    Current Weight: 223.6

    Total Weight Loss: 1.4 lbs

What worked: I did 6.5 hrs of Zumba last week. I tried to keep my water intake up, but still need to work on that. I joined MFP and started tracking yesterday. I did not do any weight training like I'd hoped for. But I did work on my portions and snacking.

    Plan for the new week:

I just got New Rules of Lifting for Women in from the library (it was on hold) so I am really excited to start that program on top of my Zumba....I also want to do some walking....but I can never motivate myself to walk. At least I get at least 5hrs of zumba in.

Continue counting carbs and eating fats. Read more about paleo/primal

Really work on the water consumption

    At least 5hrs of Zumba

What do you mean my spiced caramel apple cider thing has 20 grams of carbs? What do you mean my yogurt parfait has 34 grams?

I know exactly what you mean! Mine was more like....What do you mean my daily grapefruit has 30g of CARBS?!?! .....What do you mean my cottage cheese has 10g of carbs? And the worst, which totally screwed up my carb intake for yesterday...What do you mean re-fried beans has 54g of carbs?!?!?! Guess I wont be having any more beans with my taco salad....

  • i didn't gain any weight this last week...i stayed the same and if anything, i lost .4lbs which is good, i think.

i was slightly overweight to begin with the pregnancy and have gained slightly more than i should've, although not too much extra.

i've eaten horribly, and a lot extra, so nothing to brag about here, but keep up the good work, ladies!

  • Weight loss in the past week?  1.8 pounds

What worked for you this past week, and what didn't?  What worked...recording my food and exercising more; what didn't...wine.  Once the bottle is open, I just can't resist having a glass or two, and those extra calories did not help.

Plan for this coming week?  Keep doing what worked!  Record my food honestly, record my exercise honestly, keep trying to up my water intake, do more exercise than just walking the dog.

  • i weighed myself yesterday and i lost half a lb. i worked hard last week so it was depressing.. and to mention that the previous week i lost 8lbs. fml.

however, i worked out every day, did 30ds and cardio every day. and zumba 2 days. i can feel my body changing, i definitely have more muscle and things are situating interestingly. so i'm giving it another week without truly up. it was so depressing to see the scale barely move.

hopefully the muscle will help burn more calories. i think i should try the carb thing..

better luck next week.. i had a feeling though. i feel skinnier though.
