CHI.

My hair is very curly, and the CHI works great. It's ceramic, so it's better than the old school metal ones.

It's inexpensive but works GREAT. It heats up so fast, and does a really great job at locking in smoothness and keeping frizz away.

I've had a CHI that's held up pretty well for four years or so which is long if you read reviews about CHI's, but I notice that it doesn't get as hot anymore. I've been doing my research because I want to make another investment in a good one, so I'm considering a Babyliss or a Sedu right now. I would highly suggest looking at Follica.com for them. They are way lower priced than in the stores. I paid premium for a CHI for my sis at Target.

I bought a CHI once and thought it was just okay. It broke after a year

My hair isn't crazy curly or anything, so I just bought the Sephora brand one. I actually like it better than my CHI

My friend has crazy curly hair and she swears by the Sedu

I have a chi and I feel like it makes my hair too straight, i dont like the blunt edges. But then again i have really curly hair so it could just be me or the way my hair is cut. I prefer to just run my large barrel curling iron through my hair like a flattening iron instead.

Thanks ladies! I have hair that is not quite curly and not quite straight, although my bangs have been grown out since I was 5 years old and the pieces in the front are just frizzy and blah. I can do a decent job of blowing it out with just a round brush and hair dryer, but the hairs in the front have always driven me crazy.

My straightener is made by WIGO and I really like it. Ive had it for probably 6 years and its still going strong and gets hot FAST...sometimes too fast for a multi-tasker like me! I think mine is ceramic but I dont remember.

I like my CHI. Heats fast. Isn't too harsh on my hair (though I should probably use a heat protectant spray). Don't have the issue with it being too straight because I straighten on an angle so that my hair has a slight underturn. And I have the same wispies, not curly/not straight hair as you and it thin enough to work great on bangs (when I had them).

I even use it to curl my hair with the help of youtube videos and get lots of compliments.
