We did not eat at any of the recommended places, but that was ok with me.
WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE BIODOME?!?!?! I didn't know that existed and was so sad it was closed when we were in Houston. Next time, I'm going. And reenacting every bad Pauly Shore movie while I'm inside.
Re: Winged, I'm back from TX
Di-toe.
what biodome?
I'm glad your vagina didn't crap out.
Biodome, biosphere. IDK. It was on the hotel list of "things to do." Google is not being particularly helpful.
I was worried about that, but she's a trooper.
I think the hotel lied to you.
What hotel was it? was it nice?
yes, that area is special. My favorite it Tweety Bird Inn where every room has a mirrored ceiling.
Although, maybe that's your bag.
::pencils in notebook:: Good to know.
There was a particularly seedy place next door called the Happy or Smiley Place Inn or something. If we had a room on that side of the hotel, I fully intended to spend time at the window peering over the fence into the windows over there. Shady, to say the least.
The hotel was small, but really clean, new and the staff was really nice. The concierge called us Mr. and Mrs. HisLastname. I didn't catch it, but he did and he started chuckling as soon as the elevator doors closed.
We did go to Galveston one afternoon. It was fun to ride the ferry - my first time ever on a ferry like that. And the aquarium is leaps and bounds better than Tampa's. The beach... yikes. He said, "I want to show you the most craptacular beach and the seawall. IDK why I feel compelled to show you these things, but maybe if you were feeling too happy on this trip, seeing the beach and seawall will level you out." We spent some time in Beaumont, too, hanging with his friends for live music and drinks.
The rain worked out well enough - it gave us another good reason to stay in.
Just two at the beach.
There was a family eating a picnic lunch on the beach, just inches away from the black sludgey sand. Man said, "You think we should tell them?" I said, "Survival of the fittest. They didn't notice the ocean isn't supposed to leave a BLACK watermark and sludge in the sand? Idiots."
I saw four cases of TX big hair. Permed, bleached and teased high! The first was at the airport and I thought I'd died and gone to Snarky Heaven.
I encountered two dudes at the Galleria with guitars. Another guitar dude on the plane back to Tampa.
Counted eight mullets.
And what I can only assume were three sets of kissing cousins.
Many big belt buckles and hats, too. Too many to count.
So, what's the deal with line dancing? I never saw people actually dancing dancing. Just line dancing. At three different bar/clubs.
I would hate you so hard for this comment, but you're well liked by the majority of this board so I can't
