Revisiting hotel sleep arrangments
We had finally settled on bed sharing in 2 double beds - each of us with 1 kid. Now, I've looked at more pictures of the hotel. The floors are tile! I'm picturing a kid falling out of bed and us ending up in the emergency room with a cracked tooth or worse. The towel bumper idea seemed brilliant, but I was also picturing a fall on to carpet if something happened. Is this still a good solution?

Re: Revisiting hotel sleep arrangments
When we went to Mexico with DS as a baby (8 months), we used a crib that the hotel provided. It was perfect (and not drop-side or anything recalled here).
We are going to Mexico this summer and plan on DS sleeping in a double bed by himself with makeshift bumpers out of pillows. If that werent an option, I might go for a cot (figuring its closer to the floor). I've never been to a hotel in Mexico that doesnt have tile floors.
I'd absolutely ask for extra pillows and lay them on the floor. Or better yet, can you get one of those cheap-o inflatable pool mattresses and blow it up and put it on the floor? Something like this:
It would be tiny to pack, and squishy if landed on
No more baby siggie pics. Boo.
Good idea about the squishy pool rafts!
Also it might be possible to rearrange some furniture to move beds against walls and then have your DS sleep on the wall side. He is big enough that you don't have to worry about him getting caught in any small crack that might be there even when it's against the wall, right?
I think this suggestion is brilliant

Really what I want to do is pick a different hotel. Blah. She picked a romantic boutique hotel which is great for her wedding, but not the greatest for a family. I could get a condo with a kitchen and 2 bedrooms for cheaper and everything would be so much easier. But, my sister would not be happy. At all.

And now my mom's acting all hurt because when I switched to a room with 2 beds I moved away from them and now we don't share a patio.
FFS. Can someone give me a break? I think the reason this is so complicated is because my family isn't being very understanding
