application and resume

I'm applying for a position that has a very comprehensive application. My resume does not include anything that isn't already covered in the required application. Should I still attach my resume? I will definitely be attaching a cover letter.

If it matters, my resume will need an overhaul for this position, as it's in a different career field than my current resume is designed for.

Re: application and resume

  • For me, this would really depend on the field and other details. I worked at a job where they had applications to be filled out and they didn't pay attention to any resumes that were included.

  • Well dang it, it doesn't matter because the website application doesn't allow me the option of uploading and attaching documents. I'm so frustrated. I wrote a kick ass cover letter, and because this isn't my direct field, I don't think I will be asked to interview for the position without the help of my cover letter. I've emailed human resources and asked if there is a way to include my cover letter, so hopefully they can work something out for me.
