Re: PG/Mom Check-In
Chloe gets her two month shots today. I always thought moms that cried were overreacting, but now that the day has come, I'm feeling the tears brewing.
but, it has to be done. She's doing great! She is a total morning person. She wakes up and she's ALL smiles.
Im back on my blood pressure meds. Boo. Oh well, better than a stroke. Lol
This is exactly what I thought too until Zoe was born. I also can't watch movies where something bad happens to pg women/kids anymore. It's funny how your perspective changes!
Zoe is cruising along the furniture and points at everything.
We are getting all the plans ready for her 1st birthday and I am excited! We are just having something small this year, with a Winnie the Pooh theme. She loves her Pooh Bear!
I am 19 weeks today. I have my 20 week appt. next Monday where they will be doing the u/s to check all of baby b's organs and what not.
This weekend my parents are going to come in town and they are going to help us paint the nursery which is exciting. We went and registered this past weekend at Buy Buy Baby -- we got most of the big stuff, including picking out the furniture, but we still have a good amount of little random things we will need to go back for or just do online. We will also register for a few things at Babies R Us since those stores have more locations, but honestly Buy Buy Baby was so much nicer in my opinion.
Besides that, everything is going well!
I had an ultrasound last Thursday to check on baby's kidneys, and she looks PERFECT. Kidneys were just fine, and the tech switched us over to 4D a few times so we got a good look at her face - she looks exactly like my husband. I think she's just as cute as a button and seeing those shots of her just made me even more excited to meet her in person!
The only "but" to the great ultrasound was that she was measuring huge - about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I know my dates are right so there's no way my due date is just off by 2 weeks (I was charting), so I don't know what's going on there. The tech suggested gestational diabetes but my test for that came back perfectly normal, so who knows. I may just have a giant baby, I guess? I'm going back for another u/s in 3 weeks to check her growth.
We also have an appointment for a fetal echocardiogram today because baby girl loves to hide her heart at ultrasounds, so they want to just make sure her heart is developing alright.
Oh, and I also finally had my talk with work about my plans - hopefully I'll be able to keep working through mid-March, but then I told them I won't be back after the baby. It's not only because of the baby but also for other reasons I won't go into right now, but it was an awkward convo regardless. So I'm glad to have it over with!

Ahhh, I can't believe us March Mommas are so high on the list now!
I am ready for LO to be here! I have BAD insomnia, and it makes working SO hard. Other than that I am doing ok. Just have felt really emotional lately. yesterday, I cried bc my lower back was bothering me. I was cleaning the bathrooms and all the bending over was sending me into sciatica hell LOL. My H is so good to me tho, I really can't complain!!! I just really, really need sleep.
Second pregnancies fly by so much faster! I'm 11 weeks already. Still huge. Getting lots of comments about twins, and peoples jaws drop when I tell them I'm only 11 weeks. Morning sickness is pretty much gone, but exhaustion is still here.
Kennedy is doing great, and I can't believe she's almost 1. I really need to get on planning her birthday party! We're back to fighting with the state's Early Steps department. After I requested a new PT, they waited 4 weeks of me calling and calling, just to tell me that they aren't approving any more PT because they are trying to make cuts and they don't feel that she needs it! I'm furious, and I'm sick of her getting further behind because none of them have to take any responsibility. So I've written a formal complaint and sent it to Tallahassee. I have a meeting with them today, and if I don't get anywhere I'm asking for mediation. I'm so sick of having to fight. Other than that, she's doing great. We had to take an unexpected trip to Virginia last week for my Grandfather's funeral and she did amazing, despite being passed around and poked at by a bunch of people she didn't know. She also made friends with my aunts dogs. I foresee a dog in our future.
I cant believe that when the baby starts crying, my instinct is to take her, not to hand her back! And I love it!
She has about 2 hours at night where she is fussy with gas pains and H thinks she has very mild colic. I think she's perfect. I however have a rash on my sides and tops of my thighs that is itchy and interfering with my occasional opportunities to sleep. But I'm off pain meds and feeling pretty good. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and Dr said at 2 weeks I should be ready for regular household duties, although it has been really nice seeing H take homemaker role over for me while I was recovering
Time flies. I don't know where the days go. Just feeding and diaper changing and trying to eat a little myself and next thing you know it's the middle of the night. Today I might get a chance to take a shower!
After cruising for 2 months, pushing everything around the house and standing unassited for prolonged periods of time for a while now, Maisy took her first steps this weekend, at 9.5 weeks. Two weeks after Beckett did, so not following the generality that 2nd babies walk sooner. She is very steady at crouching down and raising back up without holding on. Maisy also got a 3th tooth, but on the bottom instead of the top ones that we've been expecting for weeks.
She's began making consistant sounds depending on her mood- when she is clapping or excited it sounds as if she is saying "Yay! Yay!" and if she is upset, she babbles what sounds like "mama," and several times now, she has said "hi" when waving. Probably just coincidental, but still cool. And she definitely understands the word "no." And abides by it much better than her big brother!
As for him, Beckett is still quite a handful at times (oh how I can't wait till we're out of this difficult age of 3 and into the delight that 4 is supposed to be), but even so, he can be such a sweetheart and makes me proud. He is really into math and has memorized a lot of basic addition already. He loves to work in math workbooks or play math games.
I pray on a daily basis that 4 is a delight...or at least less of a nightmare. Seriously, there are many days I would take a roomful of 2 year olds hopped up on sugar than my son by himself. I love the kid, but man, the whining is just out of control. And the pokiness. Its a miracle we ever get out of the house. But like I said, I love him and I know this is just a season of life.
my read shelf:
Charlotte is so much fun! I take her to story classes and she is so social, crawling around to mingle with all the babies and playing. I'm hoping to find another class we can go to during the week since she loves it so much. She is talking non-stop (baby babble of course) and started walking with her push toys.
We're taking our first family vacation on a plane in a month to San Fran. I hope it goes well...any advice for traveling with baby?
She is really beautiful in your sig picture! She has such a delicate little nose and pretty eyes and mouth! (does that sound weird? I don't compliment babies very often, lol)
Aww..Thanks Lauren
Not weird, I usually describe her as delicate.
yep isaac got his 2 month shots on the 2nd and i cried more than he did! i felt so bad because he turned BRIGHT red and did the "silent scream" for what seemed like a whole minute lol... but hes over it!
back to smiles and telling stories with his babbles... so cute.. he just discovered how to kick his legs and it has made everything he does so funny! splashes water everywhere in the bathtub, kicks at the hanging toys on the activity mat... i just fall more and more in love with him every day... he is really developing a fun personality! he really likes to be propped upright in a sitting position- i pulled out the bumbo chair and he still looks too slouched so ill probably put it away again for another month or 2 but he was too cute not to take a picture of!:
I am 27 weeks tomorrow : ) and boy oh boy this little one is getting bigger and bigger and more active by the second lol. I feel him more and more and he's getting stronger. DH felt a strong kick yesterday while we're watching a movie.
I have my glucose test on Thursday so hope everything will be fine.
Signed up for birthing classes : Labor & Delivery, Basic New Born, & Breast Feeding.
For the first time I got the "Oh my are you having twins" comment by some stranger. I told her NO, just a healthy baby boy! then she said oh im like you and my son was a bit over 9lbs. Some people are just... (no comment)
Found a crib that converts to a toddler bed and full bed as he gets older, just deciding if I should just order it online or buy it from the store so I can see it before hand.
M & B are almost 21 months old. Where does the time go?!? They continue to become more of a handful than the month before...
We were in Naples over the holidays and they had so much fun playing in the water. The plane rides - those were another story. Glad we wont be flying again til April. I think I need that long to recoup!
Their language is exploding. I love hearing them attempt new words!
Reading all the comments about crying when your babies get shots made me chuckle.... Maybe I'm cold, but I never cried when they got their shots. Or maybe it was because I had to console 2 crying babies, that the thought of myself crying would have made for a huge mess
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I've yet to own a pair of maternity pants that actually stay up. It doesn't matter how big I got, they always fell down.
Yeah I had a training for work today in Tampa and when people were asking how I was doing or how far along I was it felt so weird to say that I was already 8 going on 9 months PG. I can't believe your daughter is 2 weeks old already too!
