Me and hubby and planning a trip to Vegas and wanted some recomendations. We stayed in the MGM last time and it was really not so nice.
Any recommendations?
Re: Were to stay in Vegas
I just went for the first time and we stayed at Bally's -- my H has been several times and gets great offers from them, so the room was inexpensive. The room was nice (especially for the price) and I thought it was very centrally located. We'll definitely stay there again because of the convenience and value, but I fell in love with the Venetian and want to splurge and stay there at least once. I don't really know what the rooms look like, though -- just the lobby and casino.
It really depends on what your budget is and what is important to you. I've been twice--the first time my sister and I stayed at Planet Hollywood which we really liked. It was in a great location and we loved our room--BUT we hated the pool. We took one look at it and went to the Mirage. So Pros: location and price, Cons: pool.
In October I went with my husband and we stayed at the Four Seasons (on top of Mandalay Bay). We loved just about everything about it. BUT--it does not have a casino, and is far down the strip. We didn't mind the casino part since MB was right downstairs. But we never saw the north end of the strip. So Pros: room, service, fantastic pool. Cons: location, not a true "Vegas" experience, if that is important to you.
Next trip we will probably stay at the Wynn since we never got down to that end of the strip. Bellagio/Ceasar's/Cosmo/Wynn are definitely on the higher end budget-wise. Popular mid-range hotels: Paris, Flamingo, Aria, PH. Low end: Bally's, Luxor, Harrah's, Tropicana.

My husband and I stayed at the Flamingo when we went in 2009. The price and location were great - we paid like $50/night. The room was big, but nothing special... but, we were there for the city, not the room. The pool was nice (although, I don't know how it compared to others). I'd stay there again.
Here is a Travelzoo offer for Bally's which includes 2 buffets per day. $56/night Sun-Thurs, $115/night weekends through August, blackout dates of course apply:
