zzzzzzzzz

Hello?

I'm finally emerging from my pile of work. What's up with everyone today? Anything good?

Owen is addicted to chocolate. He keeps asking for chocolate milk, chocolate candy, cookies. CHOCOLATE!

I want to read that book about the Obamas.

I've been working out hardcore for the last 3 months. My body looks different (pretty good, if I can say so myself!) but I haven't lost a single pound.

You're transitioning bad weight into good weight though which is wonderful.

I actually liked myself the most a few pounds heavier than I am now BUT that was when I was heavily working out and was solid muscle and not the flabby goo that I currently possess.

  • Kristen, that is how it works for me. I wait until I get to a comfortable weight to work out.

Charlotte still isn't talking much, and I can't help but worry about it. Apparently she does, however, like to lift up her shirt at families doing tours of her day care center.

I am also filled with the hungry rageys.

I saw one of the guys in IT walk in today, and I could have sworn he was wearing leather pants.

  • On that note, I just started the New Rules of Lifting for Women program. I took a picture of my back/shoulders for comparison later. Gross. I'm only a couple pounds above where I usually feel pretty comfortable with my weight, but now I'm thinking that comfort level was misguided.

In happier news, I get my braces off next week. Yay!

  • I still need to lose 10 pounds to be at my WW goal weight (which is on the high end of the range for my height anyway) but I kind of don't care. I feel like I look pretty good, I'm wearing 6's and 8's and to answer the spammer's question, I kind of like being curvy.

  • Today is my first day back to work since last Wednesday and I'm hating life.

I woke up with a headache and neither Advil nor Tylenol has done a darn thing to make it go away.

We have customer service training on Thursday.  The thought of this makes me want to punch someone in the throat.

  • If you are truly bored, I can offer you this silly video of my child's varied music tastes. These are his two favorite songs right now. He asks for them by name LOUDLY.

  • I've been good about going to the gym lately, and am going to start lifting weights again.  I can't wait!

I was not good about planning healthy meals this week.  We had chicken pot pie last night, and are having the leftovers tonight.  It's so good, but so not good for you.

I need new boots to wear to work on icy days.

  • I'm crazy busy at work this week, I sometimes wonder if I'm the only person working in this department, every job seems to have my name on it latley.

I know BMI isn't a great indicator of health, but I was checking mine today and I'm only about 15lbs from being "normal".  I'd still like to lose another 25 though.

I'm meeting my HS BFF for drinks on Thursday and I'm pretty nervous.  I don't really know why, it was kind of my idea, but I'm not really sure I want to reconnect with her.  We tried about 12 years ago and it was a one and done situation so I don't know why I think it will be different now.

I was meaning to tell you, you really are looking amazing.

  • I tried to buy another lip butter yesterday because I'm not crazy about the color I have, and target and CVS were both out of them.

  • I am considering starting medifast. I'm scared though because of my past ED issues. I know I need to just suck it up and go, but I'm so so scared.

My sprained ankle has really set back my working out. I was up to running a couple miles but now I haven't run in three weeks. :(

  • My husband reached his goal weight in WW, and after the points adjustment he now gets 2x the daily points I do.  It makes me ragey.  I need to stop burning through weekly points on glasses of wine and larger portions, or else I'll have nothing left by Thursday.

Earlier this morning I was sweater shopping on Target and was dismayed to find that the only things I picked out were from either the juniors or the maternity sections.

The puking nephew might be staying with us another night.  God help me.  There were no actual voms last night, but at one point he had some milk go down the wrong pipe and stood over the trash can for like 30 seconds retching while I was doing dishes.  On the cute side, though, he was practicing saying my name and finally made it to "Emmy," after some brief confusion where he thought he was supposed to call me "Tummy."

  • I almost videotaped dagger dancing with his preteen Christmas present last night because it was so cute to share with you. Then I realized he was pants less and sitting on the potty. And for that matter so was I. Then this morning he was doing it again. While pants less. I am a nudist, aren't I ?

I worried about Miles when he was 12-15 months old.  I remember telling the doctor at his 18 month appt that he had probably 15-20 words (these included animal sounds).  His language only really increased by leaps and bounds around 22-23 months.  I wouldn't worry too much yet - I think that right around 2, language skills really pick up.  But I'm no professional, so I'm just spitballing here.

I have been trying to eat really healthy and hit the treadmill every Saturday and Sunday plus one day at the gym during the week.  I need to lose about 5 lbs to fit into my clothes comfortably.  It's really annoying to me.  I would love to work out more but I just don't know where I'd fit it in.

Miles also love chocolate.  LOVES IT.  During the day, he'll only drink milk if its chocolatey.  My flameworthy confession is that he still (at 2!) has a bottle before bed.  I was in the process of taking it away when I went to his 2 year appt.  The doctor said she'd rather he has a bottle and drinks milk than no bottle/no milk.  This way, at least I get 6-8 oz of milk into his body.

I would NOT be able to cope with a pukey kid. ACK. I have the phobia.

  • I started tracking what I eat again and cutting out eating desserts 24/7 and am down 4 lbs.  Yay!  I figure I'll probably pack some back on when I stop nursing Delilah, so I wanted to start getting into a good habit now.

I keep getting random bruises that I don't remember how I could have possibly gotten them.  The latest one is on my stomach.  Is this an issue? Am I going to die?  Or am I really just that clumsy and bumping into things doesn't phase me anymore?

I'm always covered in bruises. I have one on my side right now. I'm sure it's because I ran into the kitchen counter or something. Who knows. I also know I tend to run into stuff when I'm distracted by the kids and then don't remember how I wound up with a giant bruise somewhere random.

I bruise really easily, and my legs and hips generally always look like I've been attacked by a whomping  Willow. I don't even try to remember what I bumped into anymore.

  • Glad to see I'm not the only one then.

Is she still in the "infant" type of room at daycare?  MC's language went from zero to 60 when they moved her up so she was mostly with kids older than her, rather than mostly with kids younger than her.  Made a huge difference.

winger, we are also pretty free with the nudity at our house, and so is the little one.  She's good about not taking off clothes at daycare or in public, but when she gets home, the clothes come off.  Sometimes before we even get in our front door, exhibit A - "I am cornholio":

  • Lindsay, she is in a room up from the infants but not toddlers, 12 months to 20 months. There isn't much talking, in there.

What is ironic is once she starts talking I'm going to be all SHUT.UP.

    yes. Yes you are.

  • Angie, I would not be concerned with her not having a lot of speech at just around a year.
  • Kristen, if you are in 6s and 8s and happy I'd stop and just be happy. I gained my weight back when I couldn't hit that mystical goal that someone else set for me. If I'd just stayed in my happy size 10/12 I'd be in better shape today.

    Lindsay, Cornholio is adorablio.

Krisdi, I am going to be the different one and say if you haven't always bruised easily I'd give you doctor a call.

  • I am still at work, but I just got off the phone with my H, and my mind is bottled.

Backstory:  SIL, BIL, and nephew are moving from out of state but can't get into their new place until tomorrow.  SIL and nephew stayed with us the past two nights while BIL drove their car and their cat across the country.  Because we have a dog and H is allergic to cats, they arranged for a local friend to keep the cat tonight.  However, BIL got to our house around 5, and the friend was going to be at work until 7.

Neither H nor I was home at the time.  Without calling either of us, BIL and SIL decided to just let the cat loose in our basement and go out for dinner.  H arrived home, noticed the basement light was on, went to the basement to investigate, and saw the litter box and empty carrier.  He immediately called SIL to tell her that the cat shouldn't be loose down there, as our basement isn't fully enclosed (it's apparently possible for something small--LIKE A CAT--to squeeze behind a wall and get into the neighbor's basement), and we've put rat poison out in the past.  She was like, "Ohhhh. Ooook.  Well, we'll be home from dinner later, so we'll watch him."  H was like, "No, you need to come back NOW and get your cat back in the carrier."

I am amazed that they did not call us to (1) ASK whether they could bring in a pet and let it roam around, and (2), at the very least, confirm that the basement is safe for the cat.

    Lord, beer me strength.

  • Maybe the cat and the kid could take turns vomiting in your house. That would be great.

  • This is one night where I'm happy to be at the office.

  • Sorry you SIL and BIL are such incosieate dillholes.  I am also sorry that I couldn't take you out to get you liquored up.  You are being far more of a gracious host than I would be.
  • Latest report from H is that SIL (who is very handy) is doing penance by fixing our dripping faucet and our shower.  Her visits are always an odd mix of assistance and inconvenience.
