Mom's

I'm just curious about this so I thought I would ask. Were you able to tell when baby turned head down? I'm just curious... I've been doing some reading up on it and it tells me that until several weeks before delivery baby can still not be in head down position.

I'm not sure which would be worse.. my bladder getting a beating every day or my ribs getting a beating lol Smile

  • Skull in the ribs is worst by far! I was never able to tell. Will went head down pretty early I think but he was 'sunny side up.' Andy never flipped and his skull in my ribs was the most painful part of pregnancy.

This.  And she was apparently head down quite early on.

  • I only knew when the doctor told me, and I think he was head down pretty early on. I remember is feet kept feeling like they were going up between my ribs...that was fun.

  • My dr told me at our anatomy scan. He stayed facing down the whole pregnancy. In the end his body just want faced the correct way, which I had no idea could happen. I never had much pain from him though...just the occasional painful kick or move that let me know he was still in there.

  • 23 and 24 weeks respectively. It was easy to tell with A but since I had an anterior placenta with B it was a little harder to tell-if it wasn't my 2nd pregnancy I probably wouldn't have known.

  • At that point, baby can still flip around like no tomorrow. I didn't know that Wyatt had flipped until I started having early contractions at 30 weeks and ended up in hospital. Every appointment after that he was still head down (although some babies flip again). Talking to my doctor recently about the PTL, and the cord knot, they figure that he got all tied up when he flipped at 30 weeks when my contractions started, and it could also be why he never flipped back.

  • I couldn't tell at all. I knew there was a large bump by my ribs but could never tell if it was head or butt lol. He was still head up at 30 week ultrasound but he flipped at some point after that.

  • I didn't know until they told me, but she was a kicker so I think I would have figured it out eventually. However, when they drop -- you definitely feel that! Lightening crotch is not only a Bump phenomena!

  • eli was head down from sometime before 16 weeks (before I could even feel him move) so I have no idea when he turned or if he was just always like that. My good friend just had her baby turn at 30 weeks and it was really painful for her. I didn't get kicks in the ribs but he would push his butt up under them and stretch them out. I actually pulled muscles and that was really painful.
