My husband and I are moving to a new area that our internet company is not able to service due to Comcast having a monoplay. We will soon be ordering service through Comcast and we're thinking of ordering cable tv. Do you use it? We currently use Netflix, but it is letting us down.
Thanks!
Re: Do you have cable tv?
No cable here. We have the basic free channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS) and Netflix (streaming version only). You can find most any show you want to watch from cable online. Some channels post full episodes of popular shows on their website, or there is this website: http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/internet/. (It has a pop up every time you open a new window which is slightly annoying, but you can't beat free.)
There is also this website that has links to live streams of some cable channels: http://www.tvpc.com/ChannelList.php
I refuse to pay the outrageous prices that Comcast offers, and there;s no other option in the area. They try to suck you in with a bundle deal, but then after all the tax and random charges, it ends up costing a good 35% more than what I was quoted. Sorry, rant.
The end story is that no, I do not have cable, and it's not a huge deal. We use Netflix streaming, hulu, and network websites to watch things we like (my husband has some cord that hooks the laptop to the TV, so it's still watching on the full size screen).
When there is something I want to watch but can't find it through my usual mediums, I just try to tell myself it's a good excuse to watch less TV and be more active instead.
