SoontobeMrsEvans DDed after telling me "you don't know me"...
so I get points in the Bitter Old Hag Tally, right?
Re: SoontobeMrsEvans DDed after telling me "you don't know me"...
Which one was she again?
SoontobeMrsEvans: FI's grandpa doesn't support us getting married because FI is still in school and can't support himself, let alone a family.
Bitter Old Hags: Team Grandpa
SoontobeMrsEvans: We have goals. We are in love.
Bitter Old Hags: Team Grandpa
SoontobeMrsEvans: We're not in a rush to get married, but we've already planned the party and sent invitations so we're all set for marriage now.
Bitter Old Hags: Team Grandpa
SoontobeMrsEvans: I'm going to go to medical school. I've lived life. You don't know me.
::DD::
BTW OP: If you actually do get into med school and get through it, your FI *will* have to be able to support you like his grandpa says, for decades. Have you even bothered to do a breakeven analysis when your potential (average, not best case--have you noticed the economy lately?) salary would be making a profit beyond your student loan debt?
well i'm in the bitter old hags boat I guess.
how old was she? 12?!? sure sounded like it.
Exactly.
If she's going to medical school, shouldn't she be "SoontobeDREvans"?
As someone who's been through med school, her fiance won't have to support her for *decades* but probably just through the four years of med school. In residency you get paid, although not enough to live and you have to defer paying on your debt. After that, even with the current economy, it is not terribly difficult to repay your loans.
Also team grandpa, with the experience that her FI will have to be VERY mature to put up with the demands of med school + residency.
