We are planning on going to Germany in a few months with our twins who will be 2 yrs old by then. I am really nervous about this and have a lot of questions. My first question is probably stupid but does anyone know if Germany sells the same type/brands of diapers that the US has? We use LUVs and I am wondering if it would be cheaper to just bring a weeks worth with us or to buy them when we get there.
Thanks!
Re: Germany and Diapers
They definitely have less of a selection than in the US but they do have Huggies and pampers. Their sizing is a bit different too. But I think you wi be done bringing a small supply and buying supplies in Germany.
Edit they will probably be 10euros for a normal size package.
Yeah, I think travel is a lot easier here than in the US, actually (with kids).
One thing I find helpful is knowing the names of stores that you can get kids stuff in foreign countries so here in Germany those stores are DM, Mullers and Schecker and there may be others that are more regional. and some of the grocery stores have stuff to. While these places are typically closed on Sundays (and holidays) major train stations will have at least one of those types of places open on Sunday.
Also if you do get diapers here, have the kids weight in kgs because I don't think they mark what the pound equivalent is.
I spend EUR 8.65 for 34 size 4 Pampers (size 3 in the states).
