Do you have any travel plans for Easter?

I am never happy. I just got back from the States and now I am thinking about Easter week. What are you doing for Easter?

Re: Do you have any travel plans for Easter?

  • We were talking about going to the Philippines since it's the closest Christian country to us and they crucify people in memorium, which I would like to see.  I haven't made any solid plans yet though.
  • I dont know if I am going to have a week off or just a long weekend. I was thinking about going somewhere in Europe. I want to avoid big crowds and the extreme cold. Any ideas?

I want to go to Iceland  but my DH thinks I am crazy. He says it is going to be freezing there.

  • We just have the long weekend and are talking about going to Budapest, but no solid plans.  We have a couple of other trips before then that we are working on planning.

  • My mom mentioned a while back flying us to the States with her FF miles, but I should remind her. She'll probably need to do that soon if it's going to happen.

  • DH and I are going to visit my family in NY for 11 days. By Easter it will have been 1 year and 4 months since my last visit. Can't wait to shop! I think we paid a nice amount for tickets- 600 Euro with taxes round trip from Frankfurt. Singapore is having a sale, but we had to fly on certain dates.

  • DH's parents are having a big party on Easter Monday to celebrate their joint "120th" birthday, then that Friday we leave for our 5 month visit to the States.

  • We're getting married in Virginia on Easter Weekend:-)

Probably fly home on like the 28th or so, then back on the 10th.

    You win :-)

No plans. I don't get off work unless I want to take it and I have way too many other trips coming up to waste the holiday time. DH is going on a whiskey/camping trip with a friend so I'll have the flat to myself.

Have you been to Switzerland at all? Bern and Zurich will not be too crowded. Pretty much everything will be closed though besides the Saturday. But you could still sight see or do a little hiking. The weather last year at the beginning of April was nice. One day was so warm I had to take off my sweater to wear my cami underneath. The flowers that bloom around the parks near the lake are beautiful too.

But the best time to come to Zurich in the Spring is for this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sechsel%C3%A4uten Which is April 15-16 this year.

  • We are leaving for Philadelphia on March 30 staying until April 1st going to the Bahamas for a wedding/ vacation with friends going back to Philadelphia until the 19th ish.

We want to get out London before the Easter holiday price jump, but our house rental does not start until the 1st so that why the trip is broken up oddly.  It's the first trip to my "home" since our wedding last May.

Also yay private school 3 week Easter break!

I get this feeling 100%! I'll be sitting in the airport just getting ready to depart for one vacation and I will already be searching for plane tickets for the next. I always feel like such a brat when I am doing it too.

We're undecided about Easter. We have another long holiday weekend in May so we'll probably stay in NL for Easter and then the next month head to Rome.

Good! I'm a big advocate of Switzerland because it's so beautiful and diverse. :D

Have you not seen the pictures? CNN does a special on it almost every Easter. In certain places in the Phillipines on Good Friday the devout recreate the crucifixion by tying ( I think, i've never seen it done) themselves to a full size cross for several hours.
