Any good apps you ladies can recommend for traveling? Not just booking hotels, but guides, walks, etc. Bonus points if they're free!
Re: iPhone apps for travel?
Airnb is great for renting houses and apartment all around the world
HopStop is great in NYC for getting around using public transportation.
Urbanspoon is great for finding nontouristy restaurants. I used this one all the time in Hawaii to find new places to eat.
i got a free or 0.99 translation app that we never even used. we primarily used our maps. gogobot is kinda cool but i didn't really use it while in barcelona. i love my hipstamatic app and posted a lot of those photos to facebook while we were on vaca. i also love postagram and our friends and family loved the postcards we sent them. my MIL lives in brazil and is so upset that she cannot get the app there.

I love using the TripIt application. It is so convenient to have my whole itinerary in one place complete with all flight, hotel, and tour info. Plus you can add maps, directions, links, etc.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

I LOVE that app. Sadly, he doesn't have much for my upcoming trip (Barcelona.) What's Rick got against the Spaniards?

I also love the TripIt app. It's come in very handy to easily access my flight details and hotel information.
I use a City Walks app that provides some good free walking tour ideas. They seem to have a lot of less common locations and good ideas.

Not really what you asked for...but my sister has Verizon and is the UK; so she cant use the Verizon service; put she downloaded TextMe app; which assigns a US phone number so that whenever she connects to wireless she can text the US for free (I would think there are quite a few apps like this)
