Dropping the afternoon nap?
Have any of you dropped your child's daily nap? If so, how old were they? C (2 1/2) still takes a 2 hour nap each day at daycare. Well, they say he takes a nap, I think many times it is just quiet time with the lights off.
However, when we have him home on Fridays and weekends, he refuses to take a nap and his behavior seems fine. He doesn't get whiny or throw fits because he's tired.
Do you think it might be time to stop enforcing quiet time in the afternoons if he doesn't seem interested?

Natalie is 2 1/2 and still takes a nap every day. She sleeps longer for us on the weekends and we frequently have to wake her up so she will sleep at night!
But, my nephew started dropping his nap when he was younger than 2. Some days he will fall asleep, but most days he doesn't. I think they still do rest time. It's really up to you. If he's fighting it and isn't cranky in the evening, then skip rest time.
