30 Day Shred

Anyone ever done this?  I am downloading it now and planning to start it tomorrow.  I hope I stay motivated though.  I'm terrible at keeping up with a workout.

If you don't do this but another at-home workout, what is it and why do you like it?

Re: 30 Day Shred

  • I did it and really liked it. A lot of people said it's hard on their knees, though.

ETA: I only did it 3-4 days a week and stopped before I finished it because I got pregnant. I definitely felt a difference after only doing it for a few weeks, and plan to pick it up again a few months after the birth.

  • I've done it. It's super hard at the beginning and I never progressed past phase 2 (phase 3 was all about squats I think and I can't do that with my knee problem). You definitely feel a difference quickly!

thanks for this reminder, I meant to start doing it again and totally forgot.

  •  Yeah, I'm not sure I'll do it everday as I am breastfeeding and shouldn't be overdoing it, but I think as long as I keep up my calories it'll be good.  Plus, I have to do something!  This flabby stomach is not doing good things for me.  Glad to hear it works though.  I wanted a shortish workout and this sounded good.

We could be workout buddies if you need someone to help you remember!

  • I'd hold off until your DD is closer to 6 months...I was told that your ligaments etc arent back to normal until then so hard workouts arent so good. I did a post baby workout program, yoga is ok. I've just now started running again.

it is really high intensity, high impact which probably isn't the right thing for you right now to be honest. lots of jerking around quickly. i 'think' she has a yoga workout too?

That makes a lot of sense.  I just want to slim down a bit so was hoping for some cardio, but I realize I should probably still be taking it easier.  Did you go to a yoga class or use a video at home?  I don't really have extra cash for a class in the next few months so I need something I can do at home.

That's what the midwives here recommend as well. Six months until really strenuous workouts. Didn't even think of that when I originally saw this post!

  • Hi! I did it for 30 days straight and loved it.  It was only 27 minutes! and it was constantly switching up.  I could squeeze in a workout after the hubby was home and before dinner was ready.  That said, I lost inches, but the number on the scale didn't change.

This. It is really high intensity. I tried starting it when I was 3 months PP but my "insides," just hurt. At 6-8ish months I jogged a few times, lol, and that went well. I would recommend like a step aerobics or zumba type cardio that you could do for 30-40 minutes every other day. Best of luck!
