My favorite part of getting older - now with PIP

After all of the media around my state's dmv's online program and service fee for so much as stepping into an actual office, they do not allow you to renew your license online twice consecutively. I guess they want a picture that doesn't look like I'm in the third grade.

So it's gross and rainy here, I'm about halfway over the stomach flu and I get to take the baby to the DMV this morning.

First world problem, I know. Just wish me luck on not throwing up on anyone. Oh! And happy almost 30th birthday to meeeeeeeeeee.

Re: My favorite part of getting older - now with PIP

  • When's your birthday? Any plans?

  • You don't have to do an eye test or anything? I have to do that and a signs test for my license, but it's on such a whacky schedule that I go every 8 years to get it renewed (what?). I went when I was 22 and first moved here, 30 and now I'm not due again until 38. Seems like an odd schedule.

    Big Smile

January 16th. No big plans. After a week of being really sick to my stomach, I'm thinking that I'll hold off on any celebrating. Maybe I'll have a Happy February party.

  • Well, happy early birthday to you!

GL with the baby at the DMV. I can think of 1,000 other things I would rather do then go to the DMV with a baby. Ugh!

Here it is every five, which isn't so terrible. I might have to do the eye test, being an older lady now and all, it would make sense.

Careful with the older lady stuff! 30+ isn't so bad!

  • I like going to the DMV - the best TIP is always on display.  Last time I went (name change), a couple of women sitting next to me had an in-depth discussion on a foreign-born "pastor" who married their friend for a green card and stole all her money.  Of course, I don't have a baby, so I was able to sit there and eavesdrop unimpeded.

    This is my siggy.

Big Smile I promise, I was just alluding to ziti's poll.

I could see how 30 would be depressing if I were in a bad situation - like "wow, I'm 30 and this is all I've done with my life" but I feel pretty good about what I've done so far, so my ice cream will be eaten in celebration, not regret.

  • The key to happiness at the DMV is in the fuzzy dice.
