Do you have any scars? If so, what happened?
If you have a c-section scar, about how long is it?
Re: POLL: Scars
I do not have a c/s scar....
however, I have large scars on each knee from knee surgeries... In addition, I have a smaller set on my left knee from a second surgery on that one...
and sadly... I anticipate more bc my knee is messed up again. Grr.
i have c/s scar that is about 3 and half inches long.
i have a scar on my left knee- i fell at work when i was pregnant. it was pretty bad and i ripped my skin open. no stitches. the scar a circle and aboutt 6 inches across
and a scar on my lower back
Since I'm a complete klutz and scar easily, I have approximately 1 million smaller scars in various places like my shins, knees, elbows, hands, from a multitude of incidents over the years.
The most obvious are kind of quarter-sized round ones -- one on my knee from a bad fall and one on my tummy from a pre-cancerous mole I had removed in college.
Always missing my Mommy (1954-2010) and Daddy (1943-2012)
TTC since 2009 ; BFP 9/13/10 = MC 10/21/10
DX = DOR/POA (AMH=1.1; AFC=4-5)
Surprise BFP 8/31/11 while waiting to cycle for IVF
Welcomed our little miracle 5/7/12
csection is about 2.5 inches.
3 inches on bottom of shin/above ankle from jumping off cliff in Bermuda years ago and falling up the coral reefs trying to get back up
left elbow, falling off my bike in 3rd grade (most obvious/ugly thing)
I have a half inch scar on the right ride of my face near my eye. When I was little and in the car with my dad I refused to sit in my car seat so I fell and cut open my face. My dad's response "She doesnt need stitches!" LOL Its a small scar.
Also on the same side about an inch away, I have a chicken pox scar. It was the first one I got when I was 9 and I thought it was a mosquito bite. Its a round scar about the size of a pea.
I am so self conscious of both of them!!! I always try to make my hair cover them and even for the wedding I had the makeup artist cover them as much as she could.
I also have a bunch of other little ones too...
one from an old dog we had
and a small cluster from a student digging her nails into me
i have a scar on my arm/shoulder from where a suspicious mole was removed. i think it's getting worse over time, whereas i thought scars faded a bit over the years, but i am not at the vain point of seeing a plastic surgeon about it.
hi my name is sugardumpling and i have scars from being a klutz.
scars from surgeries, chicken pox, sliding across coney island avenue on my knee twice, and the great mandolin attack of 2011.
I have a non visable one in my eyebrow. Fell on a coffee table when I was 2.
I have one right under my bottom lip- you can't see unless your really close. I fell and my tooth went through my lip (although I do not remember story, will have to ask my mom if she remembers )
Then I have one on my right knee. Fell off my bike then I picked at a scab and now have a scar. That's about it.
i have one on my knee that has faded as ive gotten older from falling off my bike as a kid. I have another on my right hand between two knuckles, i cut it somehow but i dont remember how.
then i have a really faint one that healed extremely well when i sliced my pointer finger open on broken glass like 3 years ago, that was a biatch and i should have gotten stiches but it was in a really bad spot, the nerves were sore for a like a year after it happened, but the scar healed and faded into the lines in my finger
I have a scar on my upper lip that's hardly noticeable. I fell off of a moped like a dumbass, split my lip and needed 8 stitches. I also have a few spots on my shoulder that are discolored from the road rash that I got as well.
I have a scar on my hand from when I cut myself washing dishes. That one is yucky.
Scar on my belly button from the piercing I had.
My c-section scar is about 4 inches long.
ETA: I forgot about 3 small scars on my lower back from kidney biopsies.
Wow, some of you have some doosies.. and why are all of your c/s scars so much smaller than mine!!
I have too many.. just to the left of my left eye is a scar from a cyst removal. Scar right below my lower lip where my teeth went through from a car accident. Scar on my chin from falling of a step stool onto a counter when I was little. 5 inch scars down either side of my left arm for surgery after compound fractures.. damn gymnastics. On my left wrist from attempting to skateboard on one of those things you lay on to slide under a car. c/s scar is about 5 inches long but there is about one inch of it in the middle that isnt really a scar and apparently healed much better than the rest. Nasty scar on my left knee from a bike fall that turned into other things. Scar on my right shin from a nasty drunken fall.
Lots of small ones but those are the major ones.
My c/s scar is really big too. It's about 5 or 6 inches and very thick. I guess it didn't heal so well...or maybe has something to do with where she was positioned when they did it?
I also have a small scar on my back from surgery I had as a toddler.
I have a few. I have one on my upper lip. My Mom says I got that when I was just a toddler playing and I fell and split my lip. I don't remember...so i guess that's how it happened.
There's a small one on my right hand where it's about to meet my wrist. No, nothing teenage angsty like. I was playing after one of the parades in Pearl River (Probably St. Pats) down by my Dad's VFW post HQ and I jumped off a wall and fell on a broken bottle. Go me! LOL
There's a medium length one on my left forearm that is just amazing I have it. When I was a dumba$$ teenager, I was sneaking booze for a party. My Mom was in our apartment (garden apartments) and I thought she would be in there for a bit. But noooooo...my stupid older brother had to get back to his school for the week so she comes strolling out just as I'm walking up the hill by the house. I quick go to shove the 8 pack under some forsynthia bushes and one caught me. So I'm standing there with my arm behind my back saying goodnight hoping she won't see me bleeding.
Yet another dumb teenage (anyone sense a theme here)...I was roller skating. On a hill. Showing off. Steel gate at the bottom of the hill. WHAM. I got rushed to the DF ER and have two wide and long scars on my shins. I remember my guy friends carrying me. I also remember it hurt like a mother f-er when I was getting my stitches and I called the Nurse, Nurse Ratchet.
I would like to point out that all these accidents happened with my Mom around. My mom. THE RN. Yeah......
Um, visual TMI alert: I was just holding a ruler up to my c/s scar because I was damn sure it's a lot longer than the 2.5-4 inches that seems to be the norm around here. It is. It's 5.5 inches. I guess that's what I get for brewing a 9 pounder?
I have two scars on my hand from when I had it in a glass washing it and the glass shattered.
A 2-inch long, 1-inch wide scar on my back from when I had a precancerous mole removed and the dermo effed it up. She took the stitches out far too soon and it opened up and got infected. It's disgusting.
A few other random nicks from falls, shaving, chicken pox.
I have 2 on my arm (each about an inch long) from the oven rack where the stupid Rachael Ray mopeene did not cover me! That mopeene ended up in the garbage.
I have one under my chin from slipping on wet concrete at the pool when I was about 5.
