What are you reading?

I know a lot of us received Kindles for Christmas and may need some ideas.

I just finished "The One That I Want" by Allison Winn Scotch.  It was ok.

I am not sure what I want to read next.

  • I just started Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.  Not far into it enough to make any judgments yet, though!  I've heard it's a really good story.

  • I'm reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and I hate it. Womp womp.

I need something light and fluffy to read after this.

I finished that a week ago and I loved it! Such an amazing and sad story.

I blew through all three Hunger Games books last week and now I'm reading Wicked.  I know, I'm like 10 years behind with that one.

  • My book club has been picking such heavy books lately. We just finished "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese, which I didn't like at first but got hooked on about 100 pages in. Now, we are reading "The Prague Cemetery" by Umberto Eco. I'm only on page 30, and it's a difficult read (very wordy) but I'm going to try to stick with it.
  • I'm reading Save Me by Lisa Scottoline...I have loved most of her other books, but this one is very different.  I kinda hated it up until the last few chapters- so about 2/3 of the way through it started to pick up.  I'm going to finish it since I'm so far in, but honestly not sure I'd recommend it to others.

On my Kindle, I have a book I bought waiting- I can't remember the title, but it's the biographical story of a woman who befriends and helps a troubled teen...one of those "feel good" and yet sad type stories recommended by lots of reviews I had come across right before the holidays.  I hope I like it...

  • Oh- and meant to ask- is the Hunger Games trilogy on par with the Twilight stuff?  Like is it about vampires or warewolves or any of that supernatural stuff?  Everyone seems to be into it...I had given Twilight a try before, since so many people were telling me that even if it's not my normal thing I'd love it, and STRUGGLED through the book.  I gladly put it in the donate bin for St. Vincent dePaul when I finished- I HATED the book and movie.
