So after being a SAHM for over 8 months, I finally have what seems to be a real job prospect. As you might remember, being a SAHM was because DH lost his job and we had to move to FL and in with my parents. We simply couldn't make it on just my salary and burned through savings. I'm a wreck! I LOVE being home with Benjamin and don't know if or how either of us will manage being apart.
Also, DH is really getting down. He has been out of work for almost a year and nothing. Hasn't even been called in for an interview in months. I think he will be devastated if I get a job because I really just started looking. And by that, I mean my sister who is in HR just gave me the contact info for somebody and I called her yesterday. I have an interview Friday and they want somebody ASAP.
We also have not looked into daycare AT ALL yet. My mind is so all over the place. I honestly don't know if I'm emotionally ready to leave Benjamin, but we need to be working. We need to have jobs and save money and get out of my parents house.
Thank you for any advice and for reading this.
Re: Just Need to Talk (BR)
The first thing I would say is to take a deep breath, and don't get ahead of yourself. You have an interview (yay!). One that sounds promising, but until you get a legit job offer, try to relax and not worry so much.
(Almost) every mom is a wreck when they have to go back to work after the baby is born, whether that is 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years later--change is HARD, especially when it involves leaving your little one in someone else's care. But in your situation, it definitely sounds like you need the job, so this is GOOD NEWS! And if it does come to be, you will get through it and will adjust to a "new normal."
As for childcare--would you actually need it at this point? If DH is unemployed, can he be a SAHD while he continues to job hunt? Not having to pay for daycare would really give you guys a chance to bump up your savings to get you back on your feet.
Good luck! Things will work out.

I agree with everything Heather said.
Transition is tough, good luck and take everything one day at a time.
