Can we make a board rule?

That you must PIP and not just link AWs to your blog. It's happening more and more. At least one PIP to entice us to click on your link. If people like what they see, they'll go to your blog to see more--I promise. Otherwise, it feels like it is just a way to get people to go to your blog to increase your daily hit number.

I agree..but I am "hopeful" that those who are beginning to habitually only link will hear our request

And you "only linkers"--I am no longer clicking to see what you are AWing. Post a picture or you don't get any JL love!

I often will just put my link up...and it's not for blog hits. I could care less about blog hits. I created my blog as a way for me to keep track of what I do and share that with my interested friends and family. My favorite part of this board is seeing the projects people do...it's better than a single blog because there's so many styles in one place. Since I enjoy that part, I feel like I should post rather than just lurk. I tried to add pictures before with tinypic (that's all I know how to do) and it would spin and spin for a half hour and not work (which is why my siggy is 6 months old). I don't have time for that being a pregnant working mom and all. I'll gladly add picture if I knew an easier way or just go back to lurking.

In all honesty - if you don't have a PIP, I am NOT clicking on your link. Especially if you have a low post count.

I think it is a way to get the hit count up on a blog - or you want people to go to your blog to click on ads, or in worse case - it is a virus/spam thing.

Plus, if the pic on a blog, it is so easy to PIP, since it is already on the web, and therefore no need for tinypic

The difference I see between you and others is that you participate and so I will click on your link. We would love to see pictures though. You could use photobucket to upload pictures.

Right click on the photo you want to PIP and click "copy" (or just ctrl+c)

In your post, right click and click "paste." (or just click ctrl+v)

I don't really mind either way. If I feel like looking I will if not I won't. The Pinterest invites are more annoying to me. But I will follow board rules

Just drag and drop the corners of the pic to resize. Or select the photo once it's been pasted in and then click the tree icon you'll see in the toolbar when creating a post. You can manually adjust the height and width #s there.

It depends on your browser. For me (Firefox on a Mac) I need to copy the picture URL by right click, then "Copy link" and then click the little tree icon at the top of your compose post box. Then paste the URL into the image URL window. Resize by entering width and height as needed.

Agreed - on both these counts. I mainly lurk these days but man, the pinterest invite posts are piling up! And I crack up when I see the requester has only 1 post - eyeroll!

This. The Pinterest thing really urks me. Especially when they get a reply that a invite was sent. It just encourages others out there to do the same thing.

I agree. It would be nice to have pictures rather than a link. However, I love checking out blogs and seeing what others have been doing. I've gotten a few ideas from all of you, but these days, I don't have much time to craft, except for knitting. I swear my job is getting in the way of crafting! Too bad it supports my yarn and sticks habit, or I'd quit it!

I can totally agree to that as well, since I assume I'm one of the people you are referring to when you are speaking about this. I'm not looking for "blog hits" either, I genuienly enjoy posting on my blog and just want to share it with others. I didn't know that was wrong.. Sorry to have offended anyone!
