my housing saga continues

I still haven't found a place to live :(

I put in an offer on a foreclosed house in early Dec with a closing date of 1/15...The bank countered, I countered, they countered, I countered... back and forth until I gave up (we were 10% apart).

Then on Christmas day (yes... Christmas) I got a text from my agent that the bank wanted to see proof of funds.

So I sent it two days later

silence

silence

silence

silence

What the Bleep are they doing???!!!!
(The agent who listed the house for the bank hasn't even heard from them)

Anyone work at the loss division at a bank managing foreclosures?  Are you trapped under a pile of papers most days?

Re: my housing saga continues

  • I can't answer your question.  Good luck and fingers crossed that you hear something soon.

  • I'm no help, but I have a friend doing a short sale on her condo and it's been a year-long process. If all goes well, closing will finally take place this month. It's been a PITA mostly b/c the bank holds everything up.
  • sorry... main question is

If you work in the loss department of a bank (aka you do the approvals or denials to sell a foreclosure at a certain price probably lower then the defaulted mortgage amount), how long does it take for the offer to be processed in your division?  Do they work through them one-by-one? or sit on some of them waiting to see if another better offer will come in?
