I feel like it's a middle of the US and east coast thing. Almost none of my friends from there can really handle spicy foods.

I love them, and DH even more so. I can't even eat some of the foods he really likes.

That's funny.  DH can't really do spicy (he likes hot sauce, but not really spice) and he's from the east coast.  And definitely my mid-west grandparents don't do spicy.  ; )

  • I like it to a point. My H on the otherhand can eat the hottest/spiciest things known to man. It's incredible. He heard my cousin tell a story about when he went to Thailand and ordered pad thai, he ordered it, I think he said the waiter asked 'Thailand spicy?' and my cousin said sure. He was coughing from the FUMES of his pad thai! Now my H wants to go try it so bad. ::Sigh:: Oh well, I married him, lol!

haha. my DH totally has this problem at Thai restaurants, except they won't give him spicy enough. (he gets "white boy spicy", haha).

  • Pre-pregnancy, I was the world's biggest spice-wimp. Seriously -- dishes with "zero stars" would often still be too hot for me; plain ol' black pepper could get to be too much. It sucked, because literally all I could taste was The Burning -- and I don't see a point in eating a food if I can't actually taste the flavour of it.

With pregnancy seems to have come an increased spice tolerance; I am SO HAPPY. I hope it sticks around!

Yep! My H always puts such demand in his voice when we're ordering thai food. 'As hot as you can make it!' I always laugh. But the chefs love him, they try their best! Lol!

  • I have grown up hating spicy food. I have to say, though, that I'm getting better. Since marrying DH, I've been exposed to lots of spicy things (he's Mexican), and am learning to love cayenne pepper. :)

I love cayenne pepper! I like to add it to mac and cheese.

  • I LOVE spicy foods!  I actually almost always have a jar of jalapenos in the fridge to just put on the most random things.  I actually like my food spicier than H does lol. He has an old supervisor though who is insane with the spicy...he actually carries around a bottle of hot oil (capsaisan or something like that??) to add to his food when he goes to places because nobody can make food hot enough for him O.O
