wwyd: wedding ring related
say you're losing weight. your wedding ring barely stays on.. would you put it on a necklace or go get it sized now and then again later if necessary?

we're having twins!
Re: wwyd: wedding ring related
This.
Ditto.
I heard somewhere it's bad for the rings to have them resized a lot. It's weakens the metal or something like that.

1st year anniversary in Victoria with a killer whale topiary!
what is a ball thing?
Mine have warranties and I can get them re-sized for free, so that's what I'd do. And I'd do it again later if I needed to. Otherwise, maybe a sizer thing that goes inside. But, I'd definitely not wear it on a necklace.
this.

I concur
Both of my rings have a lot of little diamonds around them, and I've been told that I really shouldn't have them resized because it will compromise the settings. I also have really small fingers, so that might also have something to do with it
Someone was saying to get a smaller ring to hold them on, and actually, that's what I have going on right now - my e-ring is just a tad smaller than my wedding band, so I have to wear it on the top to hold the wedding band on, or else the wedding band would fall off all the time lol. If both the rings were too big, then I'd probably get a stand in set or use the diamonds from the original rings to have something smaller made.
currently my ering is smaller than my band and it holds it on.. but both are falling off. i think the moral of the story is that i either need another ring or to get these ones sized.
i'm worried the diamonds in my band will get messed up but it should be fine.
Ask your jeweler if your worried about the diamonds. It might be best not to size it up and down too many times. Any good jeweler should be able to give you options.
This. I asked our jeweler to size them down more, and he said he could, but I'd be back complaining that the diamonds had fallen out. It depends on the ring and the settings too, my wedding band has a row of diamonds in a straight line, and my e ring has a vine design with diamonds where flowers would be, so they're both weird settings to size down too much.
1) Niq FTW!! He should give free workshops to our DHs ;-)
2) I would wait to get it resized. I had my eRing resized as I was losing weight...and then I gained it back and now my eRing is too small to comfortably wear
I'm NOT saying you're going to gain your weight back!! Just that as PP have been saying, it's not good for your ring to be resized a lot so it would be better in the long run for the integrity of your ring to wait until you're at your final goal and then have stabilized. In the meantime, get a stand-in ring or get one of those clear plastic ring tubes that slips on the underside to make it tighter.
