For those of you that sold your wedding set, or have sold anything like that in the past, where/how did you do it? I have contacted a company in Houston that will buy the diamonds, or at least the large one, but I want to make sure I'm not getting scammed so I am nervous about how to proceed.
They want to set up an appointment to see the diamonds (which is fine) but I don't like the idea of being in a pressure situation and don't want them to take my extremely young look to be naive.
We didn't have kids and I doubt I'll ever get around to resetting it so I'd rather have the money to pay for a trip or something than have the rings lying around gathering dust.
Help help!!
Re: S/O of Gifts from Ex's--selling wedding set
I haven't done this but i'd get an independent appraisal and see if they can tell you wholesale and retail value so you know what your bottom line is for selling them.
Then get a few price quotes from jewelers willing to buy them.

I sold my ex-FI's ring to a friend from college..and then I returned the money to my ex.
I highly recommend Jay Freedman for selling of rings.
