A California-based teen is hoping to spearhead a national boycott of Girl Scout cookies after the organization's controversial decision to admit a 7-year-old transgender child to a Colorado troop this past fall.
The girl, which World News Daily has identified only as Taylor from Ventura County, Calif., appears in a YouTube video in which she claims her organization is using proceeds from sales of the popular cookies to "[promote] the desires of a small handful of people."
"Right now, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A...is not being honest with us girls, its troops, its leaders, its parents or the American public," Taylor, who claims to have been a Girl Scout for eight years, says in the clip. "Girl Scouts describes itself as an all-girl experience. With that label, families trust that the girls will be in an environment that is not only nurturing and sensitive to girls' needs, but also safe for girls."
She goes on to note, "I am asking you to take action with me and boycott Girl Scout Cookies." The video eventually concludes with a tagline for the Honest Girl Scouts site, which describes itself as a group "concerned with the alarming choices GSUSA has been making," and "advocating for a change back to simply building girls of good character."
...At the time, the Girl Scouts of Colorado released a statement through the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), noting, "If a child identifies as a girl and the child's family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout."

I never understood the need for separating genders.
I would have killed to be in boy scouts instead of girl scouts. That doesn't make me a transgender/lesbian/weirdo... that just means I like camping and wilderness.
I would have preferred boy scouts to girl scouts as well. Luckily, I ended up in 4-H. It was a much better fit for me.
I haven't had TM in about 3 or 4 years because I ate 8 boxes all to myself and gained like 5 pounds.
I was addicted. Acceptance was my first step.
MH just ordered me a box from his boss. I am having a love/hate feeling towards him right now.
But, back to the OP, good for them!
I've bought GS cookies every year from my CW's kids, and now I have even more reason to continue.
That being said, how can a 7 year old be transgender? Was that her decision? Did her parents decide? Is there a medical reasoning? I'm kind of curious now.

It was the little girl's decision. She's known since she was 2 years old that she was really a girl.

I read the link but I think 7 is way too young. I was a tom-boy when I was a kid it didn't mean I wanted to be a boy. I donno I don't think there is anything wrong with a little boy that likes "girl" stuff I also don't think that it means he should have been born a girl. in any event what the troop leader did was WRONG. She should be able to join. why not boy scoutsthough? There really isn't anything differnt about them. one is all girls and one is all boys. they both do community work and go camping and all that other fun stuff. Was he teased in boy scouts or something?
I need to keep up on this and find out what happens.

Agreed. The child's age just made me curious of the circumstances. I don't think she or her mother are wrong. Also, people using this instance as an excuse to be bigots really pisses me off.
My friend's Aunt Roberta goes by 'Bobby'. It doesn't have to be a boys name.
I don't understand transgender people, but that doesn't mean I have a right to judge or say that a 7 year old cannot have those feelings - but I do find it young.
