I don't know if this is going to be the interesting story you're all expecting.
Keep in mind that while this is our first date, we've been talking quite a bit before this. He can be kind of out there with his sense of humor, but so can I.
Over dinner, he says he got a gift for me: "Actually, I got you two gifts. But you only get one, and you only get to pick one, and you'll never know what the other one is. One is practical, the other is not, but it's sweet, despite the fact that it is broken. One is in my right jacket pocket, the other is in my left jacket pocket. Which one do you choose?"
I ended up debating between which one I wanted more and what each could possibly be. I actually asked him if I was being tested.
I chose the right pocket and he says, "you picked the practical one," and pulls out the staples. I just laughed hysterically.
I still don't know why he chose to give me staples, but who knows... I needed some anyway.
I actually really like this story. It is much better and less weird than I anticipated
I think it's pretty funny....but I can't help but wonder what the other gift was!?!?
I know. It's going to drive me nuts for a while.
