Re: NYT yoga article
Good article but written a little slanted. I do like how it urges caution over pushing too far. To me that is just a good standard for any work out. I see people trying to lift more weight at the expense of proper form. I see runners pushing for that extra mile at the expense of their knees. I see athletes pushing for a lighter body weight at the expense of proper nutrition. I even have friends who do extreme circuit style workouts but push for faster times to beat each other at the expense of proper technique. Post-pardum women trying to "get their body back" by working out too soon, too much, and/or too intense and then getting injured.
Getting better at any aspect of physical fitness is good. Just needs to be done correctly and at your body's limits. I like yoga a lot but know there are certain poses my body simply can't do or even at my best I could never work up to. Just is and I accept that.
