Morning ladies, hope Thursday will be terrific, and if not, tomorrow is TGIF, so it?s all good anyways
QOTD: Did you prank call as a kid, and if so, what were your pranks?
"Cause life
Re: Morning!
Morning!
QOTD: I think when I was 6 or 7 I did the "Is your refrigerator running?" prank call, though I'm fairly certain I called someone I knew and disguised my voice.
Morning! I need tomorrow to get here ASAP...I feel like this week has just crawled by!
QOTD: No, I was never the one on the phone, because I was always the one in the background laughing hysterically and snorting. Sigh...those were the days.
Morning! I need to get the house picked up before playgroup this afternoon. There's a 2 year old who helps test what we still need to childproof. :-)
QOTD: Oh yes. We were big into prank calls. One of our favorites was to call and say "Hi, this is Baskin Robbins, home of 31 flavors. If you can name all 31 flavors in 31 seconds, you'll win 31,000 dollars! Go!" I don't think anyone ever fell for it, though. Might have been the fact that we sounded like the 12 year olds that we were...
DD is with the nanny lady now, so I can get my office stuff done, showered and properly dressed. Always a good thing. And I can try out the free deoderant that I got at the movies last night. Who knew that you can not only get free knitting and sewing lessons in Europe, but FREE deoderant, too?!?! Life?s good. After that I get to take DD for her next immunization. Won?t be free, but it will be completely covered by our insurance. Ooops, just did another glitterfart.
QOTD: Yup, I tried to sell cemetery plots.
hahahaha. Did anyone ever take you seriously?
So glad tomorrow's Friday. My normally good sleeping son was up screaming for about 2 hours last night. I'm sure our neighbors are loving us today.
QOTD: My best friend in 6th grade was really into doing this type of stuff with people we knew. It was always very harmless, we'd call a friend's older brother and talk to him or something. We stopped being friends, but she continued with pranking people she knew, but then she was no longer being harmless. In 7th grade she contacted a popular 8th grader saying that I wanted to steal her boyfriend or something like that. So this girl was letting everyone in school know that she wanted to spit on me. That was fun.
In 8th grade she called my parents pretending to be a nurse and asking if I still wanted my birth control pills. She called someone else's parents pretending to be a runaway calling her own parents and telling them to stop pretending they don't know her, she just wants to come home.
Needless to say, this person was on the Jenny Jones show years later for sleeping with her sister's husband.
Morning, nothing major here. I have work and a work event tonight. I am really looking forward to the weekend, I need a few days off!
QOTD: Yes, but only to people I knew. I did the refrigerator one and a few others, but I can't recall. Wow, that was nearly 20 years ago!
Morning! Today is starting off good thanks to some better sleep last night for our entire house. Been a rough week. Thankfully this is the Bahrain version of TGIF. Now if only DH's late telcon will be cancelled we can actually get to our friend's birthday party on time. Right now it looks like we'll be fashionably late.
QOTD: Not that I recall. Or I did but it was so lame and boring I don't remember.
Morning! I'm leaving Wien for Budapest tomorrow and can't wait to see a new city.
QOTD: We grew up across from cornfields, so, yes, we definitely pranked people. We usually did 'polls' and it was shocking how stupid people are. 'What is the national anthem?' 'Um...oh yeah! God Bless America.' Fail.
Good Morning IN.
Thursday was a pretty sucky day -- had to pay bills and got a letter saying I wasn't what the office was looking for in a secretary/receptionist -- really bummed that I didn't even get an interview. But I'm looking forward to Friday -- we're having a long anniversary/Christmas present weekend in Melbourne -- we're going to see a movie one night and Spicks & Specks Live the other and stay at a posh hotel before we come home Sunday. I am really excited about it.
QOTD: Never prank called. But our phone number was one digit away from the Taco Bell (our number ended in 75 and the Taco Bell was 76), so we got a lot of wrong number calls for Taco Bell. My parents allowed us to mess with those callers. Our number was exactly the same, except a different area code, for the ICU waiting room for a hospital in a town about 150 miles away. We were not allowed to mess with callers looking for the ICU.
Good morning! I couldn't fall asleep last night for some reason so I'm super tired. Heading out for some drinks tonight with a friend I haven't seen for a while so I'm excited. Just need to find the caffeine to get me through the day!
QODT: No, I was too timid. My uncle though used to pretend to be my mom on the phone when her dates would call (he is 6 years younger so they apparently sounded identical on the phone). He would apparently pick up and pretend not to know who was calling and that she had all these other boyfriends. Sometimes he'd make dates and not tell her so she'd stand them up. Amusing stories!
BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
Morning, ladies! I'm back in Orlando/Tampa for a few days sorting out stuff around the house while BF goes to Miami/LA for meetings. I'm taking photos of all of the furniture so we can get it up on craigslist soon -- lease is up at the end of February. It's been an amazing trip so far! We've left the car at BF's mom's house in NJ and will be rendezvous-ing back there next week. The northeast has pretty much consumed the entire trip so far, and it's been so much fun! We did a tour of the Sam Adams brewery and the Cape Cod potato chip factory
When we get back, we'll starting inching westward, weather permitting.
QOTD: Totally did prank calls. On what, I have zero recollection. I do remember, however, that I was the first of my friends (in my head) to learn about three-way calling, which of course made prank calling much easier when friends couldn't come over.
