Sanibel or Captiva Island in Florida
My DH, DD and I are planning a trip to Sanibel or Captiva for late April and would like any recommendations for hotel/inn/cottage/resort. As of right now, we are most interested in Tween-Waters Inn, so if you have any experience with that resort, please comment! Also, recommendations for restaurants, boat tours, any other recreation would be appreciated. DD is 4 yrs old, so looking for kid friendly things to do. Thanks for your help!
Re: Sanibel or Captiva Island in Florida
I stayed at tween waters when I was a teen, so quite awhile ago. Honestly, I don't think where you stay really matters. The draw of that area is the beaches and boating. I've stayed at other places on those islands, and I really don't remember them since we were never in the room.
We had our own boat, so I can't recommend tours.
Does the bubble room still exist? That's was a great place, even as a teen, for being entertained with the environment. The original cheeburger cheeburger is in sanibel.
I haven't been to Sanibel in quite a while but my family always stayed at the Sundial Resort and loved it. Lots of kid activities, great pools, nice beach, etc.
And I also highly recommend The Bubble Room and Mucky Duck.
Go early though, the wait can be LONG and if you're got little ones they'll get bored.
