So everybody was saying later in the year and I'm thinking a weekend in July might work...since some of you would be off of school, cheaper flights and it would be nice here. (hah). We'll also have the house then so anybody can stay with me to save money and we'll commute into the city...I live about 35 miles west. I'd even pick you up at the airport.

Re: Chicago GTG..July? POLL
I'm gonna roll with the punches & play it by ear.
I didn't vote because it's so hard to say which month works best.
With the size of both our families it's hard for me to plan ahead with trips the way I used to, now that there seems to be a grad party, a wedding, a baptism etc. every time we turn around (mostly ILs). In fact it's a HUGE change I'm still getting used to, having planned my trips anywhere from 6-18 months ahead of time!
I'll just follow along with the posts & hope for the best - even if I can only come for the day!

One of my best friends (at the time) used to live in Chicago. Their weather is pretty much the same as it is here in MI. VERY hot and humid in July (right, Barb?). I remember going for the 4th back in '07 and it was nothing but a sweaty n' gross fest - almost no point in wearing make up!

Hi!!!! So excited to have this to look forward to :-)
I also didn't vote, because whatever date is selected, I will move mountains to be there! Chicago is my second city of sorts - my office is headquartered there and I travel there several times a year for work - so I am super excited to do a Chicago GTG - I love that city :-))
